@JaxonH Of course, pick werewolf to help you get your first Splatfest win. Or pick vampire and sabotage the other team to help get you your first Splatfest win, hmm... 🤔
These pretzels are making me thirsty
"See, my damie, Pootie Tang don't wa-da-tah to the shama cow... 'cause thats a cama cama leepa-chaiii, dig?" - Pootie Tang
I went werewolf for my first splatfest, curious to hear what everyone's favorite weapon is in the game? I am very new to the game but so far have found the Splat Roller to give me the most coverage on the map
I just wanted to post this video as a PSA. Sub strafing is great in Salmon Run to quickly turn around when picking up eggs and heading back to the basket (also a great place to practice the technique). Just thought some people would like to try using this if they didn't know about it yet.
@JasmineDragon Does Pearl REALLY know what Marina did for a living before? Heck, does even Marina herself know? All we know for sure is she has a passion for machinery and is skilled at building... something most Octarians that we know of are quite familiar with.
Maybe not, but Marina definitely feels like the one who is more in touch with the real world. At least in my head-canon, Marina is the one who came from the streets and Pearl is the one who came TO the streets to play Splatoon. Marina took Pearl under her wing because she wanted to protect this daffy little rich kid with a passion for splatting and spitting. Also, Marina really needed a frontman for her musical projects because regardless of appearances, Marina is actually fairly shy, and Pearl takes all the attention off Marina so she can just do her thing on the turntables.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
They mutually benefit each other, but based on what Gaijin Hunter said from the Japanese version, Pearl is the leader/teacher. At least in regards to Inkling culture.
@NapalmPsalm Hmm ... I think whenever I‘ve seen people use that, I figured they just had loads of Swim Speed Ups (that‘s also how my aspirations of making my Mobility Set were born). Thanks for pointing this technique out to us, I myself am gonna try to use that more often.

Yeah thanks for the video. The game is really so much better in handheld mode. Now i can play nonstop without getting bored. Sploosh-o-matic is my new aerospray. I get more points and kills with it. Maybe its placebo but the aerospray doesnt feel the same after the nerf. The feel of covering the ground with the sploosh o matic is so satisfying and smooth.

@Jhena Yeah, that's how I felt after the big bad Tri-Slosher nerf about my buckie boo, too. It took me a while to really pick it back up but once I did, it felt like the nerf never happened. Sure, you can't just outright go up to an Inkling in hopes of splatting them anymore - well, I mean you still can but your chances of success are rather slim. You need more flanking and surprise attacks to make that thing worthwhile.
As for the Aerosprays, I don't know, haven't really used them after the patch just yet but I certainly agree on the Sploosh. If only it had any other bomb than the curlies. I feel like those are rather situational and splatting someone with them comes down to pure luck imho.
@GoldenGamer88 Yeah also not a great fan of curlings. A short while they were useful to get behind the enemy but nowadays everybody is careful and shoots behind the bomb. Especially snipers get really annoying with low range weapons and no bombs.

@GoldenGamer88 No problem! I found this tech very helpful for navigating stages, I'm still working on using it in actual combat.
@Jhena Yeah, the aero... lets just say somebody took it behind the woodshed for a good spanking. I think the main thing they did to it was make its painting blobs super small which has made a lot of people mad. I don't mind though, hopefully this changes the meta enough for the splatfest so we see more of a variation in the matches.
@yokokazuo A charge two weeks in a row? I mean, I know the bamboozler plays different but still. This is super disappointing. I prefer the other eliter more too. The bubble blower just seems so counter productive for this weapon in my opinion, though it is nice to always get another weapon with beakons. I'm not gonna buy it though.
@Octane As much as I agree with your sentiment I just don't think choosing the rank mode is possible right now. I know there is a big player base, but I don't think it is big enough to split the modes up yet. I've backed out of lobbies and go back in and I get the same group a lot in ranked as is. Not to mention how the matchmaking is "local" as well. It would just take even longer to get a match, and with certain points of the day already taking too long to get in one. Even if it was possible, this is Nintendo. I don't see them changing matchmaking until the next game unfortunately.
Anyway, if any of you guys fancy a couple of rounds of Salmon Run today or later tonight, let me know! Anything's better than trying to cooperate with the incapable players I get throw in with during random matches...
Almost at the point where I can play some ranked matches haha, Just got to level 9 so I should hit level 10 tonight. I am so far behind everyone in this thread but trying to learn, it is a lot of fun
@SMODomite Nah, you're good. All that matters is you are having fun! You mentioned before you played through the single player right? No reason you should have too much trouble other than humans don't act like the octoling AI. The only thing that sucks in not having access to all the weapons. Have fun unlocking weapons and looking fresh!
@SMODomite I'm level 40 and have still barely touched the Ranked modes! I'm looking to have a proper crack at them as soon as I've finished building my outfit (only 8 chunks to go!) - but one of the great things about the game is that freedom to approach things at your own pace
There's single-player, co-op, chilled competitive multiplayer, serious competitive multiplayer - and there's no pressure to do anything you don't feel like doing - if competitive play is proving too stressful, Turf Wars is always there for something a bit more relaxed...just have fun would be my advice
@NapalmPsalm I actually ended up starting to play a lot more of Turf Wars which is a lot of fun, slowly unlocking weapons and trying to figure out which abilities maximize my paint coverage! Right now I mainly use the splat roller, I seem to do the best using that
Man, of all Chargers, I think I hate the E-Liter the most. It charges so slowly and then it‘s even got a scope in this Salmon Run period! Ugh! Got an unusually high amount of people disconnecting in Salmon Run, too. Why can‘t it handle disconnects like Ranked Modes where your rank remains untouched as it‘s more about surviving than collecting the smaller quota?
Nevertheless, I‘d be happy to join you, @Octane and @Tsurii, in Salmon Run. Got time till around 10 PM CEST, just lemme know when we wanna start.
