Topic: No demo planned for Sonic Frontiers! Are they trying to hide something?

As others have stated, I don’t see why there being no demo should suddenly be a terrible thing. Plenty of good games that I played that didn’t have a demo, I just checked out reviews instead. Sonic frontiers already has enough bias against it because of it being a 3D sonic game, no need to grasp at straws to add onto it. We live in a world where informing yourself abut games is the easiest it’s ever been once they’re released. Let’s plays/streams of said game, reviews from various different sources, articles with info surrounding the games before and after release… I’m sure at least the first two options should help in making an informed decision on if you want to purchase the game or not. I like demos too, but not having one included isn’t a stab at a game’s quality, no matter how negative sonic team’s recent track record is.

I keep buying fighting games for some reason, even though I barely got anyone to play against.

No demo = no game. All thats been shown is just some animated GIFs.

Typically if given early access to play an unfinished game from a major publisher you don't want to dunk on it because they most likely won't let you do that in the future. It's all about clicks and ad revenue so if they make an article saying it wasn't half bad and they got to play it first people will go look at the article.

But you have to remember who is making the game, Sonic Team, and how much they struggle to make a standard Sonic title let alone anything ambitious

I am interested to see if they can pull it off, but I am keeping my optimism as low as it can go.

@Sunsy I mean when ya put it like that it sounds way more silly then, and makes even less sense.

Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside.

Every game should have a demo.

@Snatcher Indeed, that was the point of my example. Not to compare Sonic Team and Nintendo, I do apologize for the confusion. A lot of games don't release with demos, it does not mean the developer or publisher is hiding anything.

I find getting information I need on games to be the easiest. Sometimes a no commentary let's play lets me see the game in action without someone trying to persuade me into buying it or not. Sometimes review text does have bits of info, in addition to reviewer's opinion (which is still subjective, a critic from Nintendo Life, or IGN, or on YouTube may like different games than I do, which means different opinions).

Personally, I just choose to play games, I find myself enjoying more games this way. I even liked Sonic Forces after playing. May not agree with the popular opinion, but still liked the game.

I get the worry, but there's ways to see something before buying it. Not sure of it, don't pre-order and wait for gameplay videos, or people's impressions on the game, both positive and negative. Then make your decision on whether it's something you like or not.

I'm very much looking forward to Sonic Frontiers, and mostly avoided coverage due to spoilers. I will still watch some gameplay of the first few levels, and I'm planning to get the game. Will probably wait for Christmas though, like I do with games that come out in November (my folks usually get me a game or two).

@FroZtedFlake Ah, I only saw the IGN gameplay, so I didn't know that it was just an unfinished build.
