Gotcha. The only company I can see that would have the potential of doing so is Disney. Having exclusive Star Wars and Marvel games would be huge. Also, a Mickey Mouse 3D platformer to compete with Mario could be good. Would they fulfill the potential is my question.

Oh god, if Disney seriously entered the games industry, I might have to boycott them on sheer principle. They own too much of the entertainment industry already. It's not a healthy state of affairs.

@Whitewatermoose I believe they can. However, that shouldn't be a problem because it's getting third party games. It won't get some of the biggest upcoming games like RDR2, but it will get a lot of third party support, especially from Japanese developers.

How have they not been featuring third party titles? Skyrim and Doom headlined November for them last year. Rocket League was a big announcement in their E3 presentation. They advertised NBA 2K18 frequently. Dark Souls Remastered was the big announcement in a Direct Mini.

As for the first half of this year, third party support isn't really all that lacking. February had DQ Builders, Pac-Man CE2+, and Payday 2. March has Scribblenauts Showdown, Fear Effect Sedna, Attack on Titan 2, and Atelier Lydie & Suelle. April is the weak link with only Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy. May has Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Dark Souls Remastered. June starts off with BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Beyond that is unknown, but there's a good chance one of Ys VIII or SNK Heroines launches in June.

Could that be better? Perhaps, but it's still a far cry from the Wii U days.

@faint Ah my mistake. But I do hold the opinion still that Nintendo needs to keep poring fuel and the glorius blaze that is the Switch. I love the system and fear Nintendo falling back into some of its bad habits from the Wii U days.

@Heavyarms55 Absolutely! As I pointed to yesterday - since mid-September (their last 'full' Direct) all there has been is an Animal Crossing Direct (mobile/not for everyone), a Xenoblade Direct (not for everyone), a 'Mini' Direct (only mini!) and a couple of Labo videos (not for everyone) ...for people not interested in Labo, AC:PC or XC2 - it's been slim pickings - and if Nintendo don't show anything between now and E3 in June, it'll have been a full 9 months since they last had a meaty Direct/Presentation to sink their teeth in to!

That's not to say that I think that people are going to just lose interest in the Switch - but, as you said, I think it'd be remiss of Nintendo not to continue pouring fuel on to the 'glorious blaze' () just to ensure that the hype-train doesn't lose any of the momentum that they did so well to generate in Year 1...

The Mini Direct may have served as an appetiser - but any good restaurateur will tell you that you shouldn't wait too long before serving people the 'main course' (..or at least bring some nibbles to the table to stave off the hunger pangs!)

@NaviAndMii
If this year Switch got another color bundles (Not Black anymore), it will be Raining Money (Hallelujah, it's raining money !)

@Whitewatermoose Wait, I can't tell if you are being serious or making a joke. There are so many "rumours" going around I just pretty much blank out what's said.

@Whitewatermoose Well I would never ask anyone to reveal what games are coming to any platform unless they were officially given permission. It also kinda spoils any surprises for what is to come and speculation/discussions on these forums.

I agree, Nintendo needs to come out swinging with the big guns if they want people to really take the paid online idea seriously. They haven't exactly got a great track record with the online infrastructure, and the Switch hasn't changed that. So short of a complete overall, which ain't happening, definitely think three or four big games are going to be needed. Smash Bros is one everyone seems to think will the game to launch alongside it, but the others like Pokemon I can't see happening. So I wonder if they will rely on third party support for those other games.

@Whitewatermoose I find it difficult to believe anyone without proof, but we shall see, Thursday is soon anyway. I don't see any leaks or news on this by the way.

@Octane Apparently Marcus Sellars is reporting it now. Dude has absolutely no credibility though lol

If I didn’t have a Wii U, I would be super excited about this line-up!

As it stands, Mario Tennis (I hope this comes out on the week when Wimbledon begins) and Octopath Traveller (the demo is as generous as it is brilliant) are the only two that perks my interest...

I’m looking forward to Bit.Trip Runner 3 as well. Any idea when this is supposed to come out?

@IceClimbers Isn't that the same dude that claimed Nintendo would have a big presence that Bandai Namco's event where they would announce 5 new games? None of that happened lol.

@Whitewatermoose You won't get banned for that lol. But I don't think it's going to happen.

@Whitewatermoose Oh Mr Mooseman, I don't think anyone would ban you for being wrong. We aren't that highly strung here are we? If so...then I'm on the wrong forum lol.

@Whitewatermoose That Apple thing is just a rumour, and probably not even a real one.

But do you work in the industry or something like that?

Octane

Nintendoforlife

@Whitewatermoose I'm curious though about your Apple comments. Are you saying Nintendo has the highest amount of leverage over Apple in the event it enters the industry? Or it's the most susceptible to an Apple invasion?

Nintendoforlife

Octane

@Whitewatermoose Well, it's just a patent. Remember Atari and their ''next gen console'', that was a big dud.

Octane

GrailUK

@Octane What happened to the Atari console? It seems to have disappeared!
