They risk becoming an afterthought even though they're at the pinnacle of success right now?
The switch is on track to become the best selling console and you're unironically saying this?
The gamecube didnt sell well. End of nintendo.
Wii sells like hotcakes. New era of gaming.
Wii u sells like mud buckets. End of nintendo.
Switch sells millions. New era of gaming.
Switch oled releases. End of nintendo.
Just saiyan..
I would absolutely love a newer stronger switch but acting like Nintendo is gonna go bust if they don't release one ASAP is an utterly ridiculous notion. The switch is still pushing products out the door and making bank.
It's always worth remembering that the wishes of the consumers isn't always aligned with the motivations of the companies, so thinking through the lens of a consumer is a fools errand, especially for a multibillion company like Nintendo
@EDWARD4444 Even though I also want a more powerful Nintendo console three years ago, I expect Nintendo can go longer without bumping up power if the next AAA Nintedo game releases go well - Breath of the Wild 2, Splatoon 3, Mario+Rabbids, Kirby Forgotten Land. Plus, Mario Kart 8 keeps selling like crazy. (edit, as others point out below, 3rd party support is still strong, even if some modern games can't run on the switch.)
And while semiconductors remain limited (at least for the rest of 2022), I think Nintendo is keen to avoid the slow console roll-out that Playstation & Xbox are struggling with.
First time posting? Anyway I would expect a new console in late 2024 or early 2025. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved on from the hybrid model.

@EDWARD4444 For this to be true 3rd party AAA games would have to be a major driver of system sales and this is not the case. I can't think of a major 3rd party game which had a same day release on the Switch and other platforms?
"Hi my name is NameNumberNumberNumberNumber, and I'm here to tell you why a company in the middle of incredible success with no clear end in sight needs more powerful hardware tomorrow, so it can get the maybe ten actually relevant multi-console games that take advantage of current gen graphics per year, none of which will ever sell remotely as well on a Nintendo system."
Yeah Nintendo is just fine where there at, as much as I want a more powerful switch, it just doesn’t need to happen.
Like others have said. The switch is on track to being the best selling Nintendo console, the only reason sega failed was because, well you have Nintendo, the Dreamcast was there last chance and it just could keep up with Nintendo, there was that one game that almost saved it, but.
But Nintendo is never going to turn out like sega, because if that ever gets that close, if it ever happens, Nintendo will do something about it, but so far, they don’t really need to, they can trail behind ps4 and Xbox all day long.
So like I said, would love to see one, but it doesn’t need to happen, and the switch is in a pretty good spot, and there games are still pushing it’s limits.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Game pushing or punishing the Switch is happening more then those on here wants others to think. Time has come they need to roll out a Super Switch to auntie the other consoles and Developers to stay with Nintendo Developments. Games moves on and you need to update the hardware Graphics is if you want to keep the market share-it's like Autos if you want to keep selling you need to not make more but make it better. Nintendo should know this from the 2DS to 3DS to New 3DS XL why do you think this console sold so well because they upgraded it to peform better. This should come as no surprise to anyone if not then why aren't you still playing on 2DS itself. That's the kicker here people talk Switch don't update hardware but yet they won't go back to just be happy with the 2DS games/consoles....right. Something News Worthy: https://nintendoeverything.com/nvidia-leak-may-hint-at-new-sw...
This is the same thing everyone says every single time Nintendo releases a console, and you know what, it never ends up being true. People are just saying these things constantly, spreading the "Nintendoomer" mentality. It's just tiring. What good would new hardware even do, if it released in a time period where people won't be able to get ahold of it anyways?
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
Switch is selling 20+ million units a year and could go on to become the best-selling console of all time.
So yes, they're clearly on the verge of destitution and irrelevance, lmao.
More seriously: while it could probably do well with more powerful hardware, the vast majority of third party games it has received since the very beginning have been ones that don't require beefy hardware to run well. That will continue to be the case.
@SwitchForce
Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but how were the new 3ds and 2ds the reason the 3ds sold so well? Most people questioned the existence of the upgrade.

@blindsquarel Yep, and then the people clamoring for the system will start to complain how they can't even purchase one, since Nintendo is making little supply, and scalpers are buying them.
