@MarioBrickLayer It's silly not to count pokemon games, as they're always the Holiday titles. Just because you don't care for it, doesn't make it any less so. It's like me saying "smash ultimate doesn't count as Nintendo's Holiday title!" because I dislike smash.

But, it is still a remake, however the pokemon development is fairly self contained, so it's not like reducing effort on this game means people are free to work on non-pokemon titles.
The case for that was entirely different. It just happened that the game itself needed to be delayed, and once it was ready to launch, they decided to hold on to it for the Switch. BOTW 2 hasn't even been delayed once, since delaying would imply that they gave it a solid release window, or release year, then changed it.
Oh I don't know about that. The pseudo-apology segment Aonuma gave before the Skyward Sword HD announcement doesn't feel all that different from the numerous BotW apology videos over the years.

@Magician But again, I wouldn't say the game itself got delayed. As implying it got delayed would mean a physical date change. They know we were expecting Breath of the Wild 2 news, and if they didn't say anything at all, the backlash would've been even more extreme. Hence why they had to apologize in advance, and tell us that we'll get some news later this year.

@Slowdive I don't buy into what analysts say. Most of the stuff they say are effectively predictions in order to make people buy into stocks of companies. Industry insiders don't hold much credibility in my opinion either, as they're rarely right about things.

@VoidofLight We have been hearing about it since last year. Wouldn't call it baseless, especially not when something like Bloomberg reports having developers talking to them. Nate and Imran Khan talked about it as well. Reports on the manufacture of components and recent firmware also explicitly hinted at it. It is not a question of if, but when Nintendo is going to announce it.
@slowdrive is right on this, there are too many people with real sources talking about this. Although there are some rumours and speculation mixed in with the real stuff. DLSS for example, looks like it will be part of the new device but I would argue that is mainly speculation at this point.
Nintendo can't announce it now as it will impact sales of the current switch, which is doing far to well to take such a risk with.
@MarioBrickLayer I'm still not buying it until Nintendo officially reveals it. Even if "official sources" came out and said it's true, it doesn't mean anything. Everyone thought the Starfox Grand Prix game was real, with even "Official sources" saying it was, but it ended up being fake.

@Slowdive Again, I still won't believe it until I actually see the system in existence. Just because the source is reliable doesn't mean that they can't get anything wrong.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that Nintendo themselves put out the Starfox Grand Prix rumour as a psy-op to discredit leakers.
@Clyde_Radcliffe It could very well be the case honestly, but I just remember getting kind of annoyed back when it was leaked, since everyone took it as 100% proof that it was real, without it having much credibility to it.

If I'm not mistaken, the Starfox Grand Prix leak was just the Crimson Moon add-on for Starlink?

@Magician I honestly doubt that's the case. Star Link would've at least been mentioned in the banner if it were a part of Star Link at all. Not to mention, it was a e3 banner like Pokemon Let's Go.

@Magician I thought the leakers were trying to say Nintendo made up the Star Fox GP rumour and fed it to them to trick them or something silly like that.
@link3710 i agree on the spin-off Kirby game coming on septembre, but i believe Hal Laboratory is gonna do the first 3D mainline Kirby game for the 2022 Kirby game
Bayonetta 3 might release on Halloween or early 2022
Breath of the Wild 2 might be a late 2021/early 2022 game
Because of E3 the question for "Next Nintendo Direct?" has been definitively answered for the next two months. There WILL be a headline game to start the show and there WILL be a surprise at the end.
