Not disappointed, but after 500+ days of no full fledged direct i expected some sort of bigger bomb. This seemed more like partner showcase with first party TBDs attached.
@kkslider5552000 having limited tastes in gaming is not the end of the world. I personally don’t have a lot of time to game so I know what I like and generally stick to those types of games (I might go out of my way for a high recommendation, such as I’ll probably end up with Hades at some point and I never liked hack and slash but was able to try the AOC demo and liked that because of the characters and tie-in to BOTW). But i can’t go out and try everything under the sun just to say I tried it or try to force myself to enjoy it just because a lot of other people did. There are certain times in the year when I may have more time where I’ll try something new (outer worlds for me recently around Christmas, first FPS-type for me since Half Life).
This direct was amazing! One of Nintendos best girls are joining smash, my two favorite Nintendo games get released in English, my favorite Mario sport franchise gets a Switch game and a port of my favorite Zelda game (yes, SS is my favorite Zelda) Also want NMH3, that Salt game that looks like Octopath and the Ninja gaiden collection. And maaaaybe Miitopia.
If it was the leaks/rumours that ruined this for everyone, then this is proof that leaks suck. I didn’t look at the leaks and this is the greatest Direct for a long time
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.

I mean, that's fair enough. I was speaking more to people who have the time and money for this stuff.
and maybe to the very broad concept that the lack of time and money people have is just obviously bad in the first place
it's just upsetting to see so many varied and interesting games that largely seem good beyond merely trailer hype be ignored by people because it isn't from the same 5 popular IPs they like
No Metroid, no Zelda, no Pikmin (and no, I'm serious this time). No new cool Nintendo IP. They could've announced a new Yoshi or DK game. I guess they really took a year off...
Most of the Direct felt like the Switch catching up with the last decade, as usual. And I guess we got another Zelda port. And a mandatory Mario sports game everyone forgets about as soon as it comes out. I'm in it for the new stuff. Year 1 was great with Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Zelda (even though that was cross-gen). I was hoping for another year just like that.
Not terrible, but I was expecting more. Skyward Sword HD and Splatoon 3 announcements were good, and Pyra/Mythra in Smash is good for Smash/Xenoblade fans, but other than that, there was nothing interesting.
@Magician as someone that plays mostly JRPG and platformers I can say the only game I might buy is Mario golf and only if the SP is lengthy (like 15-20h minimum).
Absolutely pissed on the octopath style game as I Hate tactical games and that the only Zelda announcement motion controls)
Would've preferred Wind Waker HD than Skyward Sword HD to be honest. Skyward Sword is so gimmicky... And hoped for Metroid Prime trilogy too.
Ah well, I'm very happy about Mario Golf at least! That's probably all I'll be buying from the new 1st party games shown, but looking forward to Pokemon Snap in April.
Managed to avoid leaks and overly optimistic expectations so pretty impressed with that. There was so much in it I’ll have to watch again at some point. Very Japanese feel to it.
Highlights were Mario Golf, Skyward Sword (with buttons!), Worlds End Club, Mario Golf, Project Triangle and Mario Golf
Well that was supremely disappointing given how long we've waited. The only game there I know I'll definitely buy is Skyward Sword. And that's only because they added a non-motion controlled version, Lol. If it wasn't for that, I'd just play it on Dolphin.
I'm gonna go try that Triangle Traveler demo though. (why didn't they just call it Final Fantasy Tactics?)
A good Direct that wasn't a chore to watch. Not everything interests me, but at least it didn't bore me.
Fall Guys on Switch will get me playing, and I'll certainly see about getting Skyward Sword and Mario Golf, as well as Miitopia. That Star Wars game, though... We said we wanted new games on the Switch, but from the announcement article on StarWars.com, Hunters just sounds like a prettier Galaxy of Heroes with less content. I'm willing to be surprised, I guess.
