For me at least, it seemed like the whole Direct consisted of either JRPGs or games for casual gamers. There was absolutely no game that I would want to play, unfortunately.

But that's literally untrue?
Just on a factual level, the majority of the games were neither made specifically for casual gamers (and tbh most Mario Golf fans are semi-hardcore Nintendo fans lol) nor are RPGs.
WHAT IS HAPPENING I’VE NEVER BEEN THIS CONFUSED BEFORE
Same. I genuinely don't understand. Like not everything;s for everyone, I get that, but for me this was a smorgaborg of mostly quality stuff across a good amount of genres that mostly looked interesting and/or were something a lot of people wanted.
@BabyYoda71 I almost feel bad not openly predicting ppl would be overhyping themself and be disappointed. This is really not bad considering it’s only the first half of the year.
Ouch though Aonuma... I legit thought he was teasing us... but then... he was actually serious!

People never learn. Work themselves up and then come down with a giant bump because it’s never gonna live up to expectations. I was only expecting a few games so while a lot weren’t what I was interested in, there was a lot there and the ultimate aim for Nintendo is to showcase a wide variety of games that will appeal to as many audiences as possible.

@BabyYoda71 for me there’s a lot of games that just don’t interest me (I mentioned skyward sword and golf above as games I could get. Also forgot about Outer Wilds which I may dive into, too). Most things shown just aren’t for me.
a bit lackluster for us. Skyward sword looks decent and very glad added button controls. The Octopath sequel Triangle whatever the name was looked amazing! Splatoon 3 is a must buy for the kiddos but outside of those not much was really appealing to me. Though the dodgeball type game from EA, I got the opporturtunity to play the alpha last fall and its surprisingly fun but doubt it'll have a long tail. Average overall but at least they're back to doing fat directs hopefully!
Hades physical, Skyward Sword HD, and Ninja Gaiden Trilogy were the tops for me. I'm definitely onboard for Neon White and Triangle Strategy as well. Overall I felt this Direct was pretty strong. If you felt this Direct was poor, what were you expecting exactly?
At me, I'm genuinely curious.

I can’t tell if people are being sarcastic or if this is the most underrated Direct ever
Unless we have a complete bombshell of a reveal (which I think is actually the minority of directs), there's always people considering it to be the worst direct ever. It's not often a Direct pleases everyone.
@Magician Probably more first party titles that we were waiting for some time to be revealed now. I loved the direct but most of those games are either very far away, ports or third party titles

@Magician not sure if I’m the one who should be responding as I didn’t think it was poor at all, just most games not for me. It was still fun to watch because it kept me interested the whole time as they quickly (for most) shuffled through games and did a lot of reveals.
Golf was interesting and a definite pick up for me and will be good to play Skyward Sword again.
Everything else was kind of lacklustre, NMH3 stood out as looking especially terrible which is a shame as I love Suda52 games.
