@Euler I really don't think it will stop at June. We already know about Bravely Default II, Persona 5 Strikers, Monster Hunter Rise, and New Pokemon Snap through April, and let's say Nintendo takes 15 minutes to cover those, and 10 more minutes on Smash/Animal Crossing updates, there's still a lot of Direct left. Nintendo doesn't need 25 minutes to talk about 2 months of games.

@ianl579 I'm thinking the same. 50 minutes is a long time for a Direct in general, yet alone one focusing on just four months of releases. They never really strictly stick to what they say they're focusing on unless they specifically state that it's ONLY covering that which wasn't the case here.
People seem to have exceptionally high expectations for this direct, they'll probably be in for a disappointment. Can't really blame them though if I'm going to be honest, but I would tone down your expectations.
@GilbertXI I am expecting absolutely nothing new to be announced that I"ll be interested in, a character I have no interest in in Smash, and most of the time to be spent reiterating things we already know, with maybe one or two "new (to Switch)" third party titles.
I'm not sure my expectations can be much lower lol

Yeah that's what I was thinking. They did only say it was focusing on games for the first half of the year. But focusing doesn't mean that's what the whole thing is. It could be 35 minutes for everything up to June, and then 15 minutes of stuff coming later, like Bayonetta 3 and BotW2.
I hope they don't spend 20 minutes talking about Smash, but Nintendo has highlighted that game so I'm a little worried that that'll be the bulk of this Direct. Beyond that, I'm just hoping to see Zelda get more love than The Wind Waker and/or Twilight Princess coming to the Switch for the series' anniversary. I would love to play Ocarina of Time again taking advantage of the Switch's media features.
"The secret to ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster."
The specific highlight might be to just get more views of the direct, "I don't care too much about Nintendo IPs but they're announcing something for smash so I guess I'll just check it out". But I don't know, just a thought.
I see everyone going with the usual predictions that I've seen for literally every Nintendo direct since 2-3 years ago.
Have some imagination people, predict some weirdos to show up. I really wanna see some lesser known games get some love too and not just the obvious picks we already pretty much know about. With an install base that's likely going past the 100mil mark within the next year I think they would benefit from promoting lesser known series.
I'd love a new Trauma Team, Punch-Out, Endless Ocean, The Last Story 2 or Conduit 3, there are so many games especially from the Wii era that are just completely forgotten.
@GilbertXI I think if it were the case, they'd also mention Animal Crossing because that is by far the biggest and most trendy Nintendo game at the moment. I'm almost certain they will be showing new content for it, so it's a surprise they didn't mention it.
Regardless, I think this will be the most viewed Nintendo Direct ever simply because of the noise being made about it online, I highly doubt it will be of low quality because I'd like to think everyone at Nintendo foresaw this amount of excitement meaning they will probably go all out. Not to mention that 50 minute mark. I don't recall the last Nintendo Direct that was that long.
Probably the most exciting part about this particular Direct is that we know literally nothing about it and there have been no real 'leaks' to warp our excitement, which means anything they show and announce will be a pleasant surprise. Well, for those with common sense at least.
Regardless of what's shown I'm just SO pleased this format still exists!
50 minutes though when most trailers are really short and it's only the first half the year?! It's the longest direct EVER. Ooh, it boggles the mind...
I am seriously afraid that smash will take 30min of it with Sakurai showing the character's mechanics, stages and music (lets hope that is not the case)
Hoping for Metroid Prime and Bayonetta Updates, I'd settle for a 15 second teaser trailer with a synopsis.
I bought the Switch for Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3, 2 years radio silence is a long time.
F-Zero GX, The Last Story, Endless Ocean, Mario Strikers, Pandora's Tower, advance wars, eternal darkness, Project Zero sequels would also make my day.
