@SquidOnTheRise I'm actually with you on the Smash Bros. DLC. In theory there's nothing wrong with the DLC characters and the base game has a ton of content to begin with but with a competitive multiplayer game like that it does feel like you don't have the complete experience if you don't have all the DLC but as someone who only plays it very casually, the price isn't remotely worth the value that I'd get from it.
@BenAV I want banjo and the arms character but I play smash only on holidays when friends or family visit. Because of how little I play and how much each character is I didn't buy them. Im pretty sure there won't be a sale ever either.
I still think Thursday (or today but think Thursday is more likely) is feasible for a Partner Showcase given the situation surrounding Apex Legends though maybe it ends up being a February 1st one to have a February full of Switch news. But in terms of 1st party stuff, given we now have the Animal Crossing update and Bowser's Fury info I don't think we'll get anymore news until after 3D World launches so like a Zelda Direct on February 18th and a Pokemon Direct on February 26th.
Stinks if true. Nintendo has tons of anniversaries this year. Zelda metroid Pokémon and wasn't there another? Could be a good year with some good announcements. But I realize they can't have anniversary releases for each franchise.
@BruceCM Eh... The way I see it, the pandemic has basically ceased the majority of work at Nintendo. We probably will have about a 2 year gap between internally developed releases (So not stuff from HAL, Intelligent Systems, Monolith, etc), since that's likely how long remote working will be in place.
Well, with Mario+Rabbids 2 now also more or less confirmed, probably for late spring early summer, I'm guessing either Super Mario Party 2 or Mario Golf isn't happening. Can't see us getting three spinoffs in short succession. Looks like my yearly predictions are already off to a poor start.
@link3710 Wait, what did I miss? There's going to be a Mario+Rabbids sequel? I mean it shouldn't be surprising but also, kinda is. My bet is Mario Party 2 won't be happening because the original sold 10M and still seems to be doing well. Nintendo seem to be liking the idea of doing one per series for a lot of their franchises which I get if they sell so well, but the lack of any post launch content is pretty poor. Anyway, Mario Golf makes sense as that is a pretty big franchise in terms of Mario spinoffs.

In my opinion, both Super Mario Party and Mario Tennis Aces were pretty trash so this would probably be for the best. I'd take Mario Golf out of the two if I have to choose one but I don't hold high hopes for either.
