Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@dionysos283 I just don't see it happening this early in the year. I bet we won't have anything of the sort in the first quarter (but I will be very happy to be wrong)

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 16th, 2021. So we will see a direct soon.

If it is already officially announced, why would Nintendo do a Direct for it?

I think they would do a nintendo treehouse for Super Mario 3d world and maybe they release a AAA game.

Here's the thing about Directs: i don't mind nintendo exploring other social media strategies, but since i buy like what, 3/4 titles a year for switch and i like to plan them, because despite beng 30 i have a low income, i would like to know the general dates! So of course nintendo, surprise me! but also let me know if i have 200€ spare to spend in other activities.

That's a totally valid point. Adding to this, I also love the anticipation of knowing that a game will come out later this year and counting the days. Dropping a trailer and 2 month later the game comes out is just not as satisfying.

@Anti-Matter Doubt it. The sims 4 can hardly load on consoles if you have all the expansions installed. I heard it was like 12 minute loading times, and knowing that the game itself has loads of loading screens, you'll be spending most of your time playing, stuck on loading the game itself.

@DannyBoi maybe release the rumored Switch Pro and higly antecipated games such as Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, a potencial Super Mario Odyssey or a brand new 3D Mario game.

So with Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning already announced, Apex Legends seems to be the best chance of a Partner Showcase this week. Though it may be Animal Crossing update this week and Partner Showcase next week given the Animal Crossing update releases in late January.

Then again, why wouldn't THQ Nordic wait for a planned Partner Showcase and announce the game themselves, when they clearly know that they would reach a wider audience through a Partner Showcase?

@Grumblevolcano i imagine the Festivale update coming next week, but it trailer anounced in thursday, the Kigndom of Recnoning anounced in a partners showcase or a trailer on YouTube, maybe february Nintendo is gonna do a Nintendo Direct but for the 35th anniversary of Legend of Zelda and Pokémon Company is gonna do for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.

So does anyone still believe in a January Direct or a partner showcase?

Maybe yes.
We will never know Nintendo's plan.

I think next week is our last chance for a Direct / partner showcase for the next weeks.
2 weeks before and 1 week after the release of 3D World Nintendo would not do a Direct (to not overshadow the release of 3D World).

So it's either next week, or end of February (or even later).

@dionysos283 no, a Pokémon or Legend of Zelda focused Direct in february is more likely to happen.

This week was never really possible with the Capcom one also happening.

At least we have the Capcom event today. Really looking forward to it even though it's geared towards Re8 which isn't a switch game. Hoping we at least get SOME switch related RE stuff.
