@Noble_Haltmann They said the update with Franklin and Jingle (presumably the penultimate or final update of the game) wasn't going to launch until Late November. So I'd expect it circa the 20th or so.
@Noble_Haltmann The monthly "Exploring [insert month]" videos only include update contents if they've previously been revealed, update trailers are separate.
I have a feeling a new full fat Direct might happen this month to take some wind out of next gen hype. Nintendo did a similar thing earlier this year positioning their Direct right after the PS5 and Xbox showcases, and again after the September PS5 event

I've found it weird that Age of Calamity hasn't had any DLC announced given Koei Tecmo games very commonly has DLC announced pre-launch. Does Persona 5 Scramble have DLC or was it the start of a range of canon games with no DLC?
@Grumblevolcano The only DLC P5S has is the various music sets that collect music from the main numbered entries, similar to Persona Q2 and the Dancing games.
However the P5 music set was only obtainable if you started the game while having save data for Persona 5/Royal on your PS4 or Super Smash Bros. on your Switch

With the DOOM Eternal situation (lots more info this month and it's a digital only release), I think we're getting a general Direct next week where DOOM Eternal is a shadow drop.
@Link41x They said the October PARTNER SHOWCASE would be the last of those for the year. That doesn't put a regular Direct or Direct Mini off the table, especially since Nintendo will probably want to take some wind out of next gen hype

Considering most announcements this year are shadow drops, I doubt it

@Grumblevolcano along with the Ace Attorney stuff that needs announced and is having no clue about what Nintendo has planned next year, it wouldn’t surprise me
@Grumblevolcano a shadow drop of doom eternal would be insane. But honestly I don't know if it would be better for its release being shadow dropped or just announcing its coming digital in a couple months so people can plan accordingly to buy it. Shadow drops of $20 games are one thing. A $60 shadow drop prob wouldn't get many takers i would guess. Could be wrong though
@faint Honestly I don't think as many people will buy it as they likely would've had it come out way closer to the other platforms. Especially now that Bethesda has also released the first DLC campaign for the other platforms and is also developing next gen versions for the new consoles in addition to the game being on Game Pass now and it going on sale on Steam a lot

Why would they want to do that? The Switch is still in a great position and the market understands it's not necessarily a direct competitor to the Xbox or Playstation.

@LzWinky They're considerably more direct than you think. Considering the Switch's library consists of a lot of big multiplatform games that commonly occupy the other platforms just as often, I'd say Switch is probably the closest in competition Nintendo has come against Sony and Microsoft since the GameCube days

@NintendoByNature Best outcome for sales would probably be launch alongside the 2nd DLC with the Switch version having the base game and all year 1 pass content in 1 package. I just thought the wording of the update from Bethesda sounded like a shadow drop and more expensive games have shadow dropped before (e.g. Control).
@Grumblevolcano for sure. We'll see what happens. As for myself. I'll wait to buy if its shadow dropped as I have a few other $60 games lined up the next few months. If it were launched when the other console versions were launched i would've grabbed day 1.
