The trailer itself being 3 minutes is a good sign, seeing as it means they probably have a full trailer with gameplay of the character ready and not just the reveal.
@link3710 Perhaps but I don't think it'll be long either way, the previous tweets talked about the runtime of the full event like Min Min presentation being "roughly 35 minutes".
Speculation: Crash Bandicoot 4 comes out the day after the presentation on October 2. Do you think there's a chance that he's the new character and the Sakurai message is him personally announcing Crash 4 coming to Switch? It's a bit of a long shot I know, but I think it'd be really cool.
I’m hoping for a Zelda Direct in February. But with Mario 3D World coming out the same month and Mario celebrations not over until end of March I’m concerned we might not get the Zelda Direct until later in 2021.
@Noble_Haltmann Nah. I'd bet money they were offered Sony's promotion for the game in exchange for not revealing the existence of a Switch version until X time after launch (since there's tons of evidence they were planning on revealing it far sooner). So since the game hasn't launched yet on other systems, no way will the Switch version get revealed.
@link3710 Wait so then why would they exchange for a deal like that where Sony actively promotes their game, but they're still allowed to talk about how the game is also coming to Xbox One? They're also a major competitor and that version came out day and date unlike N. Sane Trilogy, which was exclusive to PS4 for about a year.
@TheFrenchiestFryshrugs, all I know is that Activision purposefully hides the existence of other versions of their games until the initial sales wave is over, and usually it has to do with Sony. Notably, Sony's been promoting the game as though it's an exclusive. I suspect they don't see an Xbox version as a threat given current affairs but who knows.
@Shamrock All that's confirmed is a 3 minute presentation of the next character (so probably a full cgi reveal trailer with gameplay just like all the other newcomers got) followed by a brief message from Sakurai. I predict that it'll just be him talking a bit about the character and giving a general update on development, but others are thinking he's gonna confirm that development is going to be pushed back into 2022, when it was initially promised (before Covid) that all characters would be released before the end of 2021. Either one sounds plausible and it could also be something else entirely, but you never know.
@Grumblevolcano This is wonderful! The one thing I was hoping would come out of no E3 this year is us having Treehouse segments around the year when needed, rather than solely at E3.
