So here are some last minute hopes and predictions from me for today's direct( nindies show case or world or whatever they call it these days).
Release dates for:
-streets of Rage 4
-axiom verge 2
-crosscode
-gleamlight
-silksong
-sports story
-angry video game nerd adventures
More info on:
-hazelnut Bastille and it's 8-bit counterpart
-supermash
Wishful thinking:
-cadence of hyrule new worlds added or story lines
-2d side scrolling zelda(zelda 2.5) made by a team like YCG
-the messenger 2
-hyper light drifter 2
-guacamelee 3
-blaster master 3
-ittle dew 3
-blossom tales 2
-a mash up of indie characters like brawlout but instead, golf or volleyball that plays like the hotshot games
-anything YCG related. Yes we had their YCG presents not long ago, but they also said theyre working on a couple projects unannounced. What better time to announce them than in a nindies direct.
@WaffleKnight there was really only 2, maybe 3 games that I was interested in. But Not super hyped for. Kind of a meh direct imo. But I'm sure there was stuff in there for other people. Bring on the general direct already!
Pretty lackluster Indie world this time. Usually at least one game I'm interested in but not a single thing stood out this time. Hope the rumor of a full direct next week comes to fruition
Indie world isn't something I'd watch live for the sake of the thrill. It's something I check back on later in the day to quickly scan the articles on the main page!
Regular Direct on the other hand, is like entertainment in and of itself.
That Baldo game looked pretty good (though the main boy & girl characters looked a little "off" somehow, and a little dopey), but there was nothing else of note.
I'd have hoped to see new Shantae info, or a new Inti Creates title.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I thought Baldo looked alright, but the others Iâm not sure about. I donât think these titles represent the best indie games that are going to be on the Switch in 2020. It seemed like they wanted to promote the ones that were âtimed exclusivesâ.
Well yeah the best indie games on the Switch will probably be things that are released on other platforms first and then later ported to the Switch. Like Cuphead.
Hopefully we get the rumored Direct next week. Something like Silk Song is probably big enough to be in a standard Direct instead of in one of these Indie World videos.
@Grumblevolcano yea April is trials of mana for me but that's not til 24th. I bakced TW101 but is think that backers get it in April. I just don't know if that's still true with covid-19 delaying stuff.
@Grumblevolcano good to know. So yea. I guess late April til I buy a new switch game. With all This time, I actually might go back for my 3rd play through of botw. It's been 2.5 years since i played it. On the side I can play some Wii u vc games..
Something that I did find funny, is that Nintendo re-upload the Indie World video just when it was 40 or 20 dislikes away from reaching 1K in dislikes XD Don't see the problem, as they had like 9K in likes and thanks to the re-upload they also lost those likes đ
Undergoing games:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Interesting Nindies Direct, in that there were quite a few games that I thought "I could be into that", but a lot of them were 'Summer 2020', not a lot coming sooner, so in that respect it didn't do much to quell the current sense that Switch's release schedule is being mismanaged.
But Blue Fire, Last Campfire, Sky, Sky Racket, Baldo, Moving Out, Exit the Gungeon, Summer in Mara... all looked to have potential.
But wtf was The Good Life doing in there? That looked ropey.
