Sounds like Xenoblade is definitely quite soon then.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

Tyranexx

Man, I really am hoping for May or June for Xenoblade. It's easily one of my most anticipated games (that we know of) this year.

Has there been a direct released in the same week as a major first party title? Just wondering what our chances are for the upcoming week, although I'm not holding my breath.

@NintendoByNature I wouldn't completely rule it out (This IS Nintendo lol), but I think the last week of March or even into April at this point will be more likely.

Still not hurting for a Direct, particularly if the result is that they jam a ton of titles I want into the later half of this year like last year. XD

@Tyranexx for sure. I'm close to running out of games though, at least on switch. I can always dabble in my Wii u catalog if need be I guess.

@Dezzy If FF IX did come out physical, it'd need to be included alongside either FF XV Pocket Edition or a proper modern port of FF V and VI without smeared graphics.

@Grumblevolcano If XC:DE doesn't hit May I'll be shocked. That as the May title with NMH III advertised in June (It is a major exclusive even if they aren't publishing it) would probably make this the best first half yet in terms of exclusives, even if two games are remakes.

@link3710
I don't even want FF IX combined with FF XV pocket Edition in one cartridge. 😒
FF XV is banned from my gaming area, even the Pocket Edition.

@NintendoByNature I'd probably need at least like three more years with no new releases before I start to run out of Switch games, haha.

@NintendoByNature I daresay I'm still quite set on my Switch catalog for awhile. I went a little overboard.

@Anti-Matter I'm probably about to regret asking, but why is FF XV banned?

@Tyranexx
I saw with my eyes the DLC contents from FF XV contained the outfits or stuffs from rated Adult Only Western games. (Seriously, no jokes)
When FF XV bring something like that, that means = instantly banned forever.

@BenAV haha yea I was really good until this last black Friday when I went over board. I was pretty deep in December and have been clearing them out one by one. I only have a few left on the switch front. But I have a decent amount of wii u games i can play if need be. @Tyranexx you also had alot of time to stock up before you got your switch 😜

@Tyranexx I agree in that I can’t see a major direct coming a day or two before Animal Crossing. Maybe an Indie World, but not a major one.

That’s why I thought it would be this week. April (or slightly before) here we come!

@NintendoByNature I have over 400 Switch games at this point. I do try to only buy what I think I'll play but that hasn't exactly worked out too well. I think I only own like 10-20 Wii U games and it now lives in a box in the shed.

I've heard a GTA Collection is being announced soon a lot. Hope is true

Hasn't there been a GTA collection "coming soon" for years?

Let me guess... Twitter?

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@NintendoByNature ARMS and that's it during the Switch era unless you count Labo, shortest gap for the general Directs and Nintendo published retail releases afterwards during the Switch era:

  • April 12th 2017 (Direct) - April 28th 2017 (MK8 Deluxe)
  • June 13th 2017 (Direct) - June 16th 2017 (ARMS)
  • September 13th 2017 (Direct) - September 22nd 2017 (Pokken DX)
  • January 11th 2018 (Direct Mini) - February 16th 2018 (Bayonetta 1+2)
  • March 8th 2018 (Direct) - March 16th 2018 (Kirby Star Allies)
  • June 12th 2018 (Direct) - June 22nd 2018 (Mario Tennis Aces)
  • September 13th 2018 (Direct) - September 14th (Labo Vehicle Kit), September 21st 2018 (physical release of Torna) or October 5th 2018 (Super Mario Party)
  • February 13th 2019 (Direct) - March 29th 2019 (Yoshi's Crafted World)
  • June 11th 2019 (Direct) - June 28th 2019 (Super Mario Maker 2)
  • September 4th 2019 (Direct) - September 13th (Daemon X Machina) or September 20th (Link's Awakening)

So if you look at all the general Directs, Direct and then Nintendo published retail game 1-2 weeks after is most common. But if you look at just the early year Directs, Direct and then Nintendo published retail game about a month after is most common.

General Direct in early April, Xenoblade in mid to late May sounds like the most likely option to me looking at this data.

@NintendoByNature Yep, I fell for a few discounts and sales along the way. XD

@NotTelevision Agreed, I haven't fully ruled out a mini Direct of sorts next week. But I can't see them wanting to steal the thunder of ACNH with a major Direct.

@BenAV usually it's the sales that get me to buy games I feel i like can hold off on 😜. I have probably close to 80 or 100 games( I haven't counted in a while). But i have maybe 30 Wii u games and some of which I never beat. So I can dive in to the wii u once i run out of switch.
