Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@MarioBrickLayer Nintendo has to release Metroid Prime 4 on both consoles, if Nintendo decided to make Metroid Prime 4 a Switch sucessor exclusive game, it gonna upset a lot of people, many people bought Switch expecting to play Metroid Prime 4 on the console( myself inclued).

@Giancarlothomaz I agree that MP4 must be on the Switch, but if Nintendo launched it on the Switch but also said "Look! You can play MP4 on the Switch Pro in 4K with HDR etc, doesn't it look amazing!!" then I think it could be used to persuade people to upgrade.

@Giancarlothomaz You have to stop worrying about folk who just bought a Switch at some point lol. It's too early to do that half way through the Switch lifecycle as it hasn't even had a price cut yet. Folk are still buying a premium product. It needs to have a price reduction before even thinking about a new console and Metroid Prime 4 is still over a year away.

Also, not everyone are into Zelda BOTW 2, Metroid Prime 4 as they have their own interest.

Does anybody else think that this is even more support for a Direct coming soon? Especially with the release date being October 25, it seems likely.

Maybe there will be a Direct on 8 or 9 September 2022.

@StarPoint That could be true, now that you say it, it does seem like a likely Direct contender with that timeline. It'd be a nice game for the reels.

Well, the games announcement from PAX Games 2022 was already looks like a Nindie Direct.

@StarPoint The PS5/Series X|S versions release on September 6th so maybe.

@Grumblevolcano Ah I suppose that changes things a bit. I could see this being more a general announcement, that the next-gen releases are coming out soon, then a Switch version will also be released at a later date.

We probably won't have to wait long to find out, though.

Turns out Sony didn't announce a Playstation Showcase this week for airing next week to bring some good news in to the mix. Instead they just did an increased focus on promoting TLoU Part 1 which released today.

Does that give more indication of a direct coming next week then?

@NintendoByNature Perhaps, Game Informer has an exclusive gameplay video for God of War Ragnarok on September 6th which would be an odd approach of doing things if there was a Playstation Showcase on September 8th as that game would certainly be featured if there was one.

I felt the other presentation by PAX Games, Wholesome Direct, etc are already enough for me to get a lot of information about upcoming games. Thanks to play-asia also for providing the upcoming games outside the Direct.

I remembered something which increases the chance of a general Direct, we still don't know the release date of the XC3 special edition but we do know preorders open in September. So I could see a Xenoblade segment where the special edition release date is given, wave 2 of the DLC is revealed and possibly the release date for the Pyra and Mythra amiibo given as well.

While Sephiroth was the next Smash fighter after Steve, I could see Square Enix perhaps wanting the amiibo released closer to when the FF7 Rebirth promo cycle begins. Hence why I think Pyra and Mythra may come first.

@Grumblevolcano If they say when the pyra/mythra release date is, maybe they'll reveal Sora too
