Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

I feel that the Mario Movie delay might have influenced the Direct in some way, maybe even causing it to be delayed as well.

@Blooper987 well Nintendo can just drop trailers for this games/DLC, at this rate, we have to wait until septembre for the next Nintendo Direct.

They can do single trailers yeah, but that's a lot to just drop on twitter in trailers in only a month or two. I'm guessing Nintendo is changing up the regular direct schedule and we'll get it later this month or maybe next month.

I still think whether or not we get a Direct hinges on whether or not the next MK8 DLC wave gets dropped in a standalone trailer or not.

It should be about time for the next wave to be released (if we do get 3 a year), and while it obviously wouldn't be enough to carry a Direct on it's own, if there was one near that's absolutely where they'd put the announcement.

Isn't there a Square showcase today?

At this point, I am at a total loss for theories. I thought I had it all figured out, I bested the almighty Nintendo, but alas. The only thing I can say is that I still expect a Direct to happen either this month or early next month.

@NintendoByNature Square Enix and Capcom have something today. FFVII 25th anniversary celebration stream and Dragon's Dogma 10th anniversary celebration stream happening at exactly the same time (11pm UK time).

@NintendoByNature knowing how unpreditable Nintendo is, they can easily make us wait until septembre for the next Nintendo Direct, and beside june 29th is Nintendo shareholding meeting

@NintendoByNature Yeah, the rumor going around is there'll be an announcement of a Crisis Core remake for current consoles.

@Magician just saw that. Even switch in the mix. But...I also have a feeling it'll be a cloud version, which that's an easy pass for me.

Edit: actually I guess it depends on if it's a remake or remaster if it'll be a cloud version.

I do appreciate everyone bringing their information and speculation here so constructively and cheerfully, it's been fun to follow along. I want to say, though, for my part, that I'm actually fairly annoyed by Nintendo's decision to skip an E3-season presentation, and to subsequently leave us in the dark... so I've decided there is one thing I can do, however minor and trivial, to respond appropriately.

Whenever the next full Direct rolls out - be it a few weeks or months - I have decided that I won't watch the thing live that day, period, however deskbound I may be. NCL seems to care about that, so this seems like one small thing any of us can do to express displeasure. I guess I'll have to find a civilized "co-streamer" to actually watch it, as well (no offense intended to Kate Gray, Alex Olney or any of the other hosts here on NL).

@BruceCM I also hope for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to be on Steam

Neon White became purchasable at 5pm UK time so it seems the only thing wrong about the Direct rumour associated with that game was the existence of a Direct.

@Grumblevolcano Did that post outright say it would be in a Direct specifically? I remember skimming through it when I first saw it but when I went back to check it again, it had been deleted.
