Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@Rambler I'd hate to live in a garrison town as I'd never go to the pub, there's nothing worse than squaddies on a night out.

@jump @TommyTendo It wouldn’t take much for mainstream media point fingers at a game like Advanced Wars if it released when there’s such a major war taking place, especially if they learn about the mission about an invasion of a nation based on Russia. It would be a PR disaster.

@FragRed Or if we think outside the box, how about they release it now plus offer pre-order dlc of Ukraine Russia skins?

@TommyTendo It's not just politics. It's also just not smart to release a game with modern war and have a Russian stereotype as a boss when the world is having a war with Russia at the moment. Given the leader of Russia's mental state, there's no telling how much danger something like that could put companies into or nations into.

So we've gone through April without an Indie World presentation. Between this and the shadow drop trailers, things are getting rather weird.

It does seem like maybe Nintendo aren’t planning to do any indie Directs first half of the year the way things are going. But there’s a lot of exclusives which maybe Nintendo are thinking are the more important games to really focus on promoting this year, so undies are taking a back seat at the moment. I know it could easily happen in May but it’s definitely seeming likely Nintendo aren’t doing anything until whenever the next general Direct takes place.

I join this thread and the first thing I see is David Cameron holding a pig. What the **** have I missed.

It's a bit odd Mario Strikers is missing. Looking back at the major June release promo start for Switch:

• 2017 - April 12th general Direct having ARMS as a spotlight (ARMS released June 16th)
• 2018 - May 15th Mario Tennis Aces adventure mode trailer and pre-launch tourney details (Mario Tennis Aces launched June 22nd)
• 2019 - May 15th Mario Maker 2 Direct (Mario Maker 2 launched June 28th)
• 2020 - There was no major June release
• 2021 - May 17th Mario Golf Super Rush overview trailer (Mario Golf Super Rush launched June 25th)

@Grumblevolcano Nothing seems weird there. Just means we should expect a Strikers specific trailer/direct next week ish, since it seems to usually be mid May.

So when is everyone predicting the next anything Direct will be? General, game specific, own presentation format, that kind of stuff. I remember hearing talk of one in late May/start of June and was curious if I'm right in thinking that.

Yes I'm aware this is the most generic question ever to ask in a thread like this but I'm starting to get a bit antsy with the lack of major info on Pokemon, Splatoon and.... anything really.

@Fizza Well E3 was canceled, and I know people didn’t like it but that was the reason I did, yes it sucked the last year, but I liked to at least know when me might get something in general, so I’m not just here waiting for whatever shadow drop is next.

If 2019 is anything to go by, a Pokemon Direct should happen in early June to provide more information on Scarlet/Violet.

An Indie World could still happen too (if you count that as a Direct).

@Fizza The trailers for Three Hopes, Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3 and Mario Strikers over the past few weeks makes me think if there's any sort of Direct this month it'll be Indie World with a small chance of Pokemon Presents (TPC seems to prefer doing those in June).

Nintendo has to face their investors this week (earnings results are on May 10th) so maybe Indie World happens this week and/or the localized version of the Mario Strikers trailer.

I don't think we will get a direct until maybe august or september :c
