Mario has his Boxing games from Mario & Sonic games (2016, 2020).
But it wasn't enough for me.
I want more contents from Cartoonish Nintendo Boxing games.
A pinch of salt and all that, here's Nate The Hate's thoughts/predications;
Probably not the Metroid prime remake/remaster, E3 instead.
Triangle Strategy demo
Goldeneye in some form, not sure if its the remaster or just coming to NSO
Advance Wars will be there, but maybe delayed to Q2
Fire Emblem for sure
Final Fantasy pixel remasters released in one big package, for full RRP
Batman Arkham collection
Persona 4
House of the Dead remake
Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge (maybe) might be a April indie direct instead
Another retro game collection from Konami, Capcom
Unsure what state Resident Evil 3 revelations is in.
Maybe Monster Hunter DLC
Probably not Hollow Knight Silksong, probably at E3
A sequel to 1-2 Switch nobody wants
Splatoon 3
BOTW 2, MVG doesn't think its coming this year, but it might get a mention. If its at E3 and not this direct, its probably 2022. Maybe another development update coupled to the announcement of Windwaker and Twilight Princess HD coming this year. Nate also thinks it might slip in 2023.
Bayonetta 3 will be an E3 showing
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has a substantial showing
Another Fire Emblem, remake of Genealogy of the Holy War possibly as well
Xenoventures, eh, @Sdelintwouters .... Sounds like a game I'd get, too! Bayonetta 3 being out anytime soon is Pie in the Sky material, @skywake. 4 being nearly done is so far into the realms of fantasy, I'd like some of whatever you're on to dream of that, lol! In fact, if they did shock drop 3, I'd probably have a heart attack & die on the spot, so perhaps that isn't a good idea
@Magician boom. Its at a wierd time for me. Just getting done with work, Kids getting home from school. I'll be doing my best to tune in and if I need to rewatch I will.
Honestly just one of Xenoblade or Fire Emblem will probably make my year. Stack that on top of BotW sequel, Kirby and Legends Arceus and we already have a great year for the Switch without considering third parties and other releases.
I think it's about time we had another Warriors spin-off. Mushroom Kingdom Warriors, anyone?
Sorry I didn't mean to make it seem like I'd be unhappy for that to happen, I'd actually be super stoked if my list came true. Maybe the "information about games we know enough about" came across as negative, but I was just trying to set a realistic prediction there since that's been the pattern of most past directs.
@Buziel All of the YT Nintendo loyalists seem to agree that a Fire Emblem announcement is a lock for tonight. One of the "three big surprises" set at the beginning, middle, or end of the Direct. Depending on how much credence you give to Nintendo leaker Samus Hunter. I think the various online leaks have suggested it's either a re-remake of Gaiden (Valentia) or a remake of Genealogy.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,540 games (as of January 28th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

That might be too much of a change to Warriors formula imo. I could see another Fire Emblem with Three Houses added to it or a third Hyrule Warriors game so it has both lots of characters.
If we are talking about Nintendo and Tecmo Koei crossovers then I'd like to see a new Pokémon Conquest. It's a Poke-spin off I don't see talked enough about.
@Magician dang, valentia is rumored? I just asked my wife to get it for me and I think it arrived from Amazon yesterday 😅. Thank the heavens for prime and free returns.
@Magician I hope if Valentia does come that the other 3DS games from the Switch era that were overlooked because it wasn't on Switch also come like Yoshi's Woolly World and Samus Returns (in the former game do a Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition type situation where you have the graphics of Wii U version and all the content of the 3DS version).
@NintendoByNature@Grumblevolcano Yeah, should be interesting. Personally I don't have a preference for whichever Fire Emblem gets announced. I still haven't fired up my copy of 3H yet, lol. But as an rpg fan I'll support whatever game Intelligent Systems serve up.

Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
I wouldn't count on there being a Nintendo themed Warriors announcement.
There's a new Warriors game coming out in May based on a Japanese mobile game I believe, and it is Switch exclusive already (outside of a Steam release).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 2017 had 3 separate Warriors games come out, including Fire Emblem Warriors. I wouldn't rule it out solely on there being another release in the series.
