Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@kkslider5552000 I mean, they may not have a choice but to make Xenoblade titles. A new IP would be interesting, but I remember reading a while back that Nintendo probably holds a tight leash on Monolith and what games they produce. It could be that I'm not correct on that, but eh.

@VoidofLight The composer part could mean a Playstation event later in February revealing Chrono Cross instead. I'd imagine Sony would force timed exclusivity like they did with FFVII Remake.

@Grumblevolcano Yeah, I know. He's a composer for tons of other series, so it could be anything. The only reason I believe it could be connected to Xenoblade is mainly because Monolith is preparing their website for a new reveal. They deleted all the old news, and updated the thing, which they only ever really do when they're about to announce a new game.

My predictions;

They will announce their first lot NFTs, a mere $5k for a Birdo model from Mario Golf.

Some NES games get added to NSO like Bad Street Brawler and Operation Secret Storm.

There’s 20 mins of Chris Pratt talking about his new Jurassic Park film but there’s no mention of the Mario movie.

Nintendo will be developing a Minions game led by the Mario Kart team, so no new Mario Kart.

They will talk about the new menu range at the Nintendo theme park, there’s now a vegan gluten free burger and a vanilla soya milkshake.

Metroid Prime will get ported to the Switch but with Wii controls and doesn’t include 2 or 3.

And then it finishes with an obituary video of Masahiro Sakurai, don’t worry he’s not dead, Microsoft have just bought him.

@jump Screw that I want it to be 40 entire minutes of Chris Pratt trying to do a live reenactment of what would be the Mario movie trailer had the trailer actually been produced.

@FragRed he just draws with a pink sharpie a face on one hand and then uses a green sharpie on the other hand so he can do a dramatic reading of the first scene from the movie playing Mario, Luigi and Peach himself. The scene is Mario and Luigi explaining to Peach about how their surname is Mario whilst she is upset about the genocide of Toads caused by a boarder dispute with Bowser.

@jump And it’s entirely done in his normal voice, never once attempting to try and change it. And it’s recorded on his web cam with loud sounds from a highway in the background.

I never thought of it before, but now that it's been brought up I think that there's a serious possibility, given that they did reveal the main voice actors during a Nintendo Direct, that they drop the first proper Mario movie trailer or other such tease at the end.

@RR529 I doubt it'll be the last thing at the direct, since they know people watch it for games, not movie trailers. They'll probably mention it in the direct, but not at the end.

@Sdelintwouters I actually saw a trailer at the cinema for the new Roland Emmerich film the other day.

It was a very wonky trailer but from what I can tell the moon is actually a giant alien so some astronauts are going into space to fight.

It looked so bad I really want to see it now, it’s like George Melies and Michael Bay had a baby, neglected it for it’s entire life and then gave it a load of money to make up for which was spent on this mess.

@VoidofLight, wasn't the last thing in the last Direct? Granted, I doubt they'd make it the last part of the showcase twice in a row I'll give you that, but it's already been done before so who knows.

@FragRed and as he’s trying to film it his farther in law Arnold Schwarzenegger keeps shouting at him to join the rest of the family for dinner as he’s being rude and it’s really weird he is recording it in The Terminator’s bedroom.

@Screen I just hope the actor they cast to play the moon does a good job, someone like Judy Dench would have the gravitas for a role as big as the moon. I’d love to see behind the scenes shots of her wearing a green motion capture suit and fighting the space shuttle like a 60s Toho film.

Honestly, a Triangle Strategy demo that carries your save is pretty much all I want lol

SUPER moon shot: MARIO KART 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yea, I think it's mostly gonna be Kirby, Splatoon, and Rabbids along with some of these leaked collection ports from like a decade ago.

@RR529 No, it wasn't the last thing in the last direct. It had a segment towards the end, but Bayonetta 3 was the last thing.

@jump And he’s constantly whining and moaning and stomping his feet because he doesn’t want to meet the rest of the family’s, he’s doing something important. So Arnold just grounds him for the whole weekend and takes away his toys and tries to take the web camera and Chris Pratt lays on the floor screaming and banging his hands while Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting madder and madder and threatening to ground him longer if he doesn’t behave.

@jump I went to see Moonfall last weekend. It's a very, very dumb movie that thinks it's smart. It's Armageddon larping as a sci-fi epic. Feels very much like a throwback to a lot of those terrible, but immensely popular sci-fi blockbusters from the mid-90s to early-00s.
