Topic: My demo game didn’t download

I tried to download the demo game MH Rise but it didn’t showed up in the home page

Yeah, this is happening a lot with the eShop of late for some reason. Leave your Switch on sleep mode. It should (eventually) appear on your homescreen and download.

@Drcdinoboygaming Yeah, Pandemic+increased video game playing+ video games buying+holiday=servers overwhelmed at times. Mine wouldn't load either, although, it said it would eventually. So, I'm leaving my Switch in sleep mode tonight so it will download by morning.

I'm having the same problem, except I'm now trying to download a demo for 2 days and nothing happens. In the meantime I bought 3 games on sale that downloaded just fine. Only this damn demo won't download. Isn't there anything I can do?

@dionysos283 Which game demo? In case anyone in your region wants to try downloading it to help test. It sounds like the problem is on Nintendo's side, not yours, if you downloaded games successfully.

EDIT: I can't test the german eshop, since my account is north american eshop region

I want to download the demo for Sea of Solitude. I also tried to download it from the NA eshop. I have an EU and NA eshop account.

@dionysos283 I just tried it at 10:20am (eastern US time zone), and it started downloading immediately. It took about 2-3 minutes to download (via 5G wifi). The demo file size is 1 GB (999MB). I'm assuming you have enough room for it.

At this point, I guess I'd send nintendo support an email to see if they can explain why it won't download for you. I know nobody likes doing that, but it's the only thing left I can think of to try.

edit: If parental controls were the issue, I'd assume you couldn't access the game on eshop to begin with. It's rated T for teen here. This probalby isn't the issue, but I'm just trying to cover everything that could create a snag.

@dionysos283 When you click to download the demo, does the game's tile get added to your Switch home screen? If yes, maybe, because of server traffic & bad luck, maybe you just have to leave your switch in sleep mode (with no games open) for the day, or over night. I'm not saying don't play games, but definitely leave the Switch in sleep mode over night or something.

Turns out that I already downloaded the demo, but forgot about it. That's why nothing happened, when I tried to download it again.
