@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot I mean, my main concern with the OST is that it's going to sound like regular Mario music and not Mario & Luigi music, which is kind of emphasized when it's going for a sound like this:
It feels like something from a Mario Kart track, y'know?
@Anti-Matter It matters to me because it's incredibly imperative to Mario & Luigi's unique voice as a series, which unlike so many other Mario spin-offs, remained pretty consistent despite it all. Same goes for the art and writing. You take enough of that voice away and it's just another Mario spin-off.
Alright, we are now officially a week away from Brothership and I honestly still don't know how to feel about it. Not that I'm not excited; it's just that I'm concerned it won't be able to live up to my own personal expectations for a new Mario & Luigi, which is pretty much a "me problem." Anyone else?
@N00BiSH Currently this game seems very promising to me. Seems closer to BIS/SSS than it is to Paper Jam. The characters and story look awesome so far (the part in the trailer with Kamek and Bowser Jr. stands out to me), and the music so far is really good in my opinion.
A NintendoLife user that could talk about Kirby, Pikmin, or Mario RPGs for hours without getting bored!
The discussion over the IGN review is so tiring. So many fans genuinely believe either IGN is never right and the review has to be discredited- and others believe IGN is 100% right and the game is the worst Nintendo produced game ever made- along with the worst Mario and Luigi game ever made.
I’ve been hearing mixed things from people playing the game. A good few love it, but then there’s people who played it and are saying IGN is right and that the game is awful.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@FawfulsFury Exactly. It’s why this whole situation drives me nuts. Some say they were right after playing the leaked game- but even then I’ve seen a lot of people also being positive after the game leaked.

I posted on Reddit today (I know, I know... first mistake) about that... about waiting and just playing the game before we all dogpile it.
Got downvoted to oblivion.
People have forgotten how to think for themselves. Yea, there are some things you obviously don't need to experience to know if it's good or bad, but videogames are an art form and a classic example of nuance and subjectivity when it comes to enjoyment.
I don't care one way or the other about the IGN review. I love Logan, and to me reviews have always been the reviewer giving THEIR impression and score.
Edit: I know the technical concerns are what many people are doing videos and stuff about now. Frankly, I no longer trust other people to whine to me about the technical performances of games. Echoes of Wisdom and Peach Showtime and Link's Awakening are great examples where the internet cried about frame drops and stuff, even used the word "unplayable," and I had zero issues with those games. Zero. So, honestly, I'm done listening to that stuff until I experience it myself.
@rallydefault These people who cry about the performance literally haven't played Shin Megami Tensei V or Scarlet and Violet on Switch. Echoes of Wisdom was a bit annoying performance-wise but it doesn't ruin the game. I don't think the new Mario and Luigi will be all that bad in that regard.
As for Reddit, people are making a big stink about this on there. Ran into someone who literally told me that the 80 critic score on Meta-critic means that the game is a bad game, taking into account "review inflation." It's insane that people think an 80 equals out to something which is automatically bad.

Yeah, as per usual, people are blowin' this stuff out of proportion. Like, I've made it no secret here that there are things about Brothership that raise several red flags to me but that's only because of my own high standards for a game like this, and I can't really be sure if said flags will hold up since I haven't played the game yet and am willing to give the benefit of the doubt(case in point: I pre-ordered it).
@VoidofLight@N00BiSH
Yea, I'm looking forward to the game, I'm picking it up Thursday, and I'm gonna give it a shot. I love the Mario and Luigi series.
If it's not great, I'll admit it. I'll even post right in this thread and say it's not great; I've done that many times in the past.
But for cryin' out loud, ya gotta play a game before you pick it apart.
@N00BiSH For me I never really thought the BiS remake was all that bad. I heard the sprite art wasn't as good as in the original, since it went off of the sprites made for the SuperStar Saga remake- but given it was my only way to play the game, I basically was willing to take what I could. Really like how the environments looked though.
