Bruh I was really happy when they showed it off at the start because the Mario and Luigi games were awesome! The only Mario and Luigi game I don’t have is paper jam. And the fact that it’s coming out 5 days before my birthday is especially exciting.
I am so unbelievably happy this is a real thing, if I wasn’t at college watching this I would’ve literally screamed at this and the MP4 reveal

@Greatluigi It is like Nintendo finally relented after experimenting with the battle system many times over. 'Ok. Ok. You like the turn based combat style, but with a bit of real time button pressing? Got it.'

@Mana_Knight honestly I don’t mind when Nintendo experiments since there’s nothing wrong with experimenting but I feel like they should make a new IP dedicated to experimenting and take any results that people like and give it it’s own series.
@Greatluigi Oh, I am always happy for them to try new things! It would be boring otherwise. Personally, I love Super Paper Mario, which did away with the turn based and made it a platform game really. That is what makes them such a fun company, but I think with the Paper Mario/RPG style series people kept wanting the PM64/TTYD style system and were not getting it for the longest time.
I would say this is more of a revival for Mario RPGs. And it's worth pointing out that this Mario & Luigi is brand new, not a remake, so that just makes it even better. This is like getting a new Paper Mario in the classic story, which I still hope will happen as well someday.
Looking at screenshots, it's interesting that there's some electrical theme going on with appliance-like designs and electrical outlet characters, complete with the bad guys being the Extension Corps. Reminds me of Luigi having electrical powers in Superstar Saga. "THUNDER!"
"Why, if it isn't my old pal Luigi! Or is it Baby Luigi? I can't tell the difference." - King Boo
Yes, after 2 remakes that seemingly returned to form, now we’re getting a new game that uses new, unique characters and the classic battle engine.
Absolutely cannot wait for this. I’m very happy with all of these Mario RPGs coming out so quick! Hopefully we continue seeing these unique Mario RPGs! Just in one year we got 3 games that seem to be a return to form.
I’m excited to see more about this game, they haven’t talked too much about the plot, definitely looking forward to that.
A NintendoLife user that could talk about Kirby, Pikmin, or Mario RPGs for hours without getting bored!
It's so weird that after a decade of Mario RPGs just declining into irrelevancy and literally bankrupting a developer, we just get three in one year.
I almost worry its too much, you're gonna burn people out. But I'm overjoyed to see they're all back. This is peak Mario, no more safe, samey nonsense, no more undercooked games, no more "Mario 3 and World nostalgia only". Never stop making games like this. It's just as important to me as the platformers.
@kkslider5552000 I mean I'm already burned out and that's just from watching a friend play the Super Mario RPG remake, and myself trying TTYD and finding it a cumbersome and not very fun game. I'm playing TOK again instead now and loving it, but I've got my fill when I've completed it.
