I really like the name of this game. It seems very promising that they’re having a focus on the fact they are brothers. Usually Mario games just use ‘Bros.’, so I think it’s really cool they’re using the whole word with Brothership. When the game was announced I didn’t even know Brothership wasn’t a word. Based off of the game’s title alone, this game seems to be focusing on the fact that they are brothers and about sea/boats/islands.
Aside from the name, it also seems to have an electricity focus for some reason. Excited to see more about that.
@PikminMarioKirby I think the "bros" stuff was only in the UK versions of the titles for some reason. The American ones were always just "Mario & Luigi," and Japan's were "Mario & Luigi RPG."
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@VoidofLight That is odd that it is different for three different regions, a lot of times it’s only 1 or 2 different variations. What I meant was just the Mario series in general (such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder), but that is something I didn’t know about the Mario & Luigi series!

@Mana_Knight It hasn’t been confirmed, although ILCA seems very likely. Nintendo is often quiet when it comes to a game’s developer, so it’s very possible we’ll have to wait until close to the game’s release find out for sure.

@PikminMarioKirby Thank you! For sure it is! I hope the sales of all three help convince Nintendo to not let them lay dormant. For me, they are the best kind of Mario games. Aside from gameplay just being so fun, the writing is what really tips it for me.
@Mana_Knight Mario RPGs are my favorite sub-series as well! I like many other Mario sub-series, but I think Mario RPGs are the best. Paper Mario has certainly had many slip-ups, but the first 2 are both top 5 games ever for me. Mario + Rabbids are very strategic and has a very unique battle engine, and Super Mario RPG is somewhat similar to the OG Paper Mario games. I haven't played too many M&L games but from my experience with Bowser's Inside Story it's really good. That being said, I am so excited for Brothership! It looks awesome, can't wait for it to release. About 2 months until it releases!
I too also am excited to see another Mario RPG in the sense that we haven’t gotten them in ages i mean the Rabbids crossover was there but that didn’t feel like a true Mario RPG in a sense and we got remakes which was amazing but wasn’t a new entry in a sense, I’m just glad we get a beautiful art style with Brothership, it’d definitely gave me a tear seeing it in the direct. 😭
@TheNoobie Brothership looks great so far, I can't wait for the release! Definitely my most anticipated game right now. I'm glad to see this series return!
@PikminMarioKirby Same, I’m just mainly glad to see the series return in a new form because the last original game Paper Jam didn’t live up to the hype people thought it could’ve been don’t get me wrong like it was an alright game I mean it was a Mario & Luigi game for god sake I love this series but it just fell into the NSMB syndrome of being to generic glad to see something new come outta this series with a new developer too wonder how that’ll go!
@TheNoobie Oh wow I forgot it's been since Paper Jam since the last mainline M&L release, it's been a long time since we've gotten a new game from this series! I didn't think the series would return since AlphaDream was gone, but I'm very happy the series is still alive!

Overall, that’s the same with me. Though definitely in the current trailer we got for Brothership I notified something fishy with three enemies that looked like either Mini-bosses or actual bosses like around 1:13 in the trailer the eyes of these minions look heavily similar to Antasma from Dream Team but that could just be my head tryna make up theories
I really like the electric theming of Brothership. The themes of this game that I’ve caught onto are electricity and boats. An interesting mix, can’t wait to see more from this theming!
@TheNoobie I haven’t really thought of a connection of the two before, but I suppose it’s possible. I haven’t played through Dream Team so I don’t know the entire story, but I think there are a few similarities. It’d be cool to see some of the enemies from previous M&L games like Antasma and Fawful return!

@PikminMarioKirby YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED DREAM TEAM?! Well, if you find the chance to it’s definitely a game I love and was actually my first Mario RPG (Not Counting a Certain Sticker Star) But I’d definitely love to see previous characters from the series in 3D that would be awesome them as 3D Models and I know this is very random but I also wonder if we’ll see Bowser Jr at all in the game would be cool but we’ll have to see what the developers got in store
@TheNoobie Dream Team seems like a good game, but I’ve mostly just played Bowser’s Inside Story and some of Superstar Saga on NSO. Seems like a really good entry in the series, it’d be cool if they brought it to Switch!

@PikminMarioKirby It really depends if Nintendo and DS Games to NSO but I sadly doubt that if we got a collection that would’ve been sick but we might just have to hope the next console has something to be with a better virtual console games like that could be brought back
@TheNoobie A collection with Bowser’s Inside Story, Partners in time, and Dream Team (and maybe Superstar Saga but that’s already on GBA on Switch) would be awesome! I don’t think they’ll do that, but that would be so cool if they did!

I’d say so, though even if they don’t have a collection thankfully I have basically all besides Partners in time in my collection since it’s pretty difficult finding an actual copy of Partners in time.
