A report from Gematsu suggests that the toys-to-life and anime for The Snack World is headed westward. Personally, I would be all-in, as I love the toys-to-life genre. But as Skylanders and Starlink have shown...I think the game, the toy line, and the anime...will have a hard time finding an audience in the west. Am I wrong? Who else here would be excited for a cutesy action-rpg with a gacha toy line?

My fears have been allayed. A new trailer confirms a physical release for Europe and Murica. Although there's no word on the toys, I'll take what's offered. Level-5 is skidding by financially, so I'm happy to have this physical release as an excuse to support them.
P.S. - Thread title changed from, "Is this coming west?" to just the game's western title.

That 'trailer' posted above in November is one of the worst I've ever seen. No gameplay, no idea what the game is about, just a whole bunch of minimally animated characters filling the screen for no particular reason. That is not going to ignite a fire in the West. What else ya got?
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit It's just the OP to the game. It's pretty normal to post those as the "announcement trailer." Sort of like when AAA games are first revealed, and the trailers are just mini CGI movies. This shows actual gameplay.
I'm still concerning about the Purple Genies in USA / PAL version.
Both of Western release will get some changes and censorship.
Especially for Europe version that rated PEGI 7 (at least 7 years old to play that game), how does the changes on the Purple Genies toward 7 years old kids ?
I heard they will get more fabrics to cover their body and probably some gesture changes (The Japan version was much like male strippers).
@Anti-Matter or anyone else in the know, this looks quite a lot like Portal Knights and Dragon Quest Builders to me. I don't have any connection with the Snack World IP, so is there much to sell it on to someone like me that likes PK and DQB but doesn't really need another similar game unless it offers something special?

From the gameplay i saw, The Snack World was much like Fantasy Life with FF XII Battle System style because i saw the Link line attack or being attacked.
In my opinion, Snack World have something i like and didn't really like at the same time.
The likes things : Character Customization, Outfits, Chibi looking, Unusual Quirky storyline, Battle system like FF XII style.
The Not so interested things: Purple Genies (I like six pack dudes but chubby purple naked strippers are not my type), Ugly Snow White as Boss, General Cinderella
@Anti-Matter They changed the outfits worn by the princess and the genies in the Western release.
Definitely not surprised about the genies. They looked like S&M fetishists or something in the original.
With the princess, they covered the belly and seem to have given her pants that cover the legs. Not a big deal, considering it looks like something a person would actually wear and isn't poorly implemented.
The official website for the game mentions that the toys won't be supported by the western release. Instead the bonuses granted by the toys will be changed into a daily check-in with an in-game character called Sam Witch. Basically a mechanic similar to the Goddess Statues in Fantasy Life. Since Snack World is Level-5's take on the Diablo dungeon-crawling genre I'm really quite excited for this release. https://www.snackworld-official.com/en/

@SuperSpaghetti We get it, you don't like the game. No need to keep reiterating it and baiting a reaction. So you've been warned.
By the way, I don't think you understand what ''indie'', ''anime'', or ''shovelware'' means; because it's not indie, doesn't look like your typical Japanese cartoon, and it's quite the opposide of shovelware with it's premium price tag.
@Anti-Matter Why do you think this looks like FF XII? Seems more like a Diablo-esque action rpg to me, based on the footage and impressions I've read from people who played the Japanese version.
