It is not impossible. I believe SMW and NSMB U got Wii U bundles long after the games originally launched. Same for MK7 and 2DS. Granted, these are Mario titles, which are more generally popular than Zelda.
I might cave after if the system gets a lot of games I really want, but right now I am looking for longer battery life. Having only 2.5 hours of battery life for more demanding games is pathetic. Nor is this number only theoretical: Zelda pushes the system's battery life down to a measly 3 hours.
I mean, I'm probably going to get one regardless, simply because of Xenoblade 2, but it would be nice to have more games, and more importantly, more release dates.
If Nintendo is smart, they would have a full blow Pokémon game just for switch. I mean full RPG style with 1st and 2nd Gen pokemon. Not that other new mess. But have it just like pokemon in its prime. Have full blown battles with pokemon not just standing there waiting to get hit. So action RPG most likely. I don't want pokemon just close by, I want them to really look like they are in a real full blown fight! The system would sell like crazy.
@Ndg2k
I REALLY hope they do a Pokémon game like that in the future. Ever since Pokémon came out on the GameBoy people have been saying exactly that, but sadly, it's never happened.
Right? They are out of their mind if they dont. This is the prime time! The trump card. Do or die! For the nostalgia! It's the only chance to catch up with Xbox and sony! I never get special bundles but if they came out with a Pokémon edition switch I'm MY MONEY IS GONE! Pre order and all! Pokémon yellow console or something with pikachu on it lookin cute, with the colorful controller and the game that offers something special for pre order folk. A gym badge or shiny metal pokeball. With special edition starter pokemon for all that got the game early. I'd get online and everything. Don't care what the cost is. I may be asking for a lot but the game is good enough. FYI I'm a late 20something year old female. Don't judge me for wanting to relive my childhood. 😳😭
I know a few people who still don't want one yet. I have a friend that owns a Wii U and will wait for Super Mario Odyssey—he's buying The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for his Wii U. My parents are waiting for the next Pikmin game. I swear, they still play Pikmin 3's Bingo Battle every weekend. My sister is sold on it for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild alone—she only owns a 3DS currently. I have one friend that's waiting until the Switch gets a Smash Bros. game or mainline Pokémon (“Stars”) game. And I have a few friends that are already sold on getting one.
As for me, I'm already sold on it, though I do feel a bit weird about getting it on launch day since the main draw is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and I own a Wii U already. I might decide to wait until late summer. The worry there is I do want to get to try the online before I have to pay for it. The only other game I'm that interested in is Super Mario Odyssey. I'm somewhat interested in Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (again as a Wii U owner, unsure about this one), Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together!, and Arms but none of those quite sell me on the system themselves. What would really ‘seal-the-deal’ for me would be a Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Gamefreak-developed Pokémon, or Metroid this year in addition to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildSuper Mario Odyssey.

Supplemental computing device. It was a patent they filed for last Fall. Think of it as a modern day N64 expansion Pak.
Except it would be a new dock with a Xbox one computing power built into the dock. So it would allow western third party games to run on Switch if even only in docked mode.
It could be the N64's expansion pack or it could be the N64's 64DD.
The same Virtual Console titles we already have on Wii/Wii U (minus the issue of every emulator except for SNES where everything is dark). Also add GameCube games to the VC. Games like Animal Crossing, Wind Waker (to replace the HD version), Super Mario Sunshine, etc. I know this is rumored but a confirmation from Nintendo will really hit a home run.
Those things are pretty much the only things that have me on the fence, I want the Switch but would it be beneficial to trade my Wii U for one?
For me it's because, I remember, when I 1st herd about the switch. Nintendo said(or at least the rumors), that they wanted to cater to serious and hardcore gamers, and have the console be able to compete with the specs and power of the PS4 and Xbox One. But to me, the switch just seems like the Wii U on steroids, and it's nothing special. So at that event when they announced the console, and the features, it was a letdown for me.
In my opinion, I feel like Nintendo is still clinging on to the success of the past! Instead worrying of the present, and future of gaming.
When I first heard about the console under the codename NX, honestly I thought it would have been a mixed use console. By that I mean, it would cater the kids, old school, and hard core Nintendo fans, but at the same time cater to the serious and hardcore gamers.
With that being said, their console is coming out before the next PS4 and the Xbox Scorpio(witch Microsoft said themselves that the Scorpio is supporting native 4K gaming & there's rumors that Sony is supporting 4K as well). So with that being said, for starters they could've at least have all the games be Native 1080P at minimum(because supposedly even some of their best titles that are supposed to lunch are coming in at 900P), so if they want to target serious and hardcore gamers it would be a good way to start! Also, if they have wanted to, they could've taken advantage of their release date, and have gotten a head start and ahead of the pack(Microsoft & Sony), by releasing the console with native 4K gaming(at least when on the dock, on the TV). But to me, I feel like Nintendo is using outdated technology from a few years back! Instead of using the most recent, most powerful hardware on the market! To make it the best console, that I thought it was going to be!
Plus the consoles launch date title lineup is also a bit weak! Other than Zelda, I don't think there is any other game worth purchasing at the time! Plus if they wanted to cater to the serious and hardcore gamers(and maybe compete with the other consoles on the market), this would have been the perfect opportunity to do so. By maybe creating a Switch exclusive game that caters to the serious and hardcore gamers. To release on launch day alongside Zelda.
Don't get me wrong, I do like Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and all those Nintendo exclusive characters and games! But at the same time, I was expecting games for serious gamers, along the lines of Battlefield, GTA V, & Madden etc(those games exactly, or new games made like them cater to the serious and hardcore gamers).
So, overall to me, this is just an outdated nostalgia box(with much newer hardware than the Wii U, but with still slightly outdated hardware). That's still clinging on to the success of the past. With their highly successful exclusive characters and games, that they're just recycling!
In all honesty, I thought that this time around, Nintendo was going to get it right! And was really going to produce a jaw dropping console! But they managed to fail me this time around as well(at least to me)!
