Naming things is a hard thing. You don't want to name your product according to how your competitor does it, because then you will seem like a cheap copy. This is why Microsoft would rather use X's and S's than to every go near the words Pro and Slim, since those terms are so closely related to the Playstation.
Nintendo already picked their term for the inevitable console built in a smaller chip size; the Light. I was wondering what Nintendo would be call the also inevitable more powerful Switch. They can't call it the Switch 2, because then consumers would think their Switch game collection is obsolete, when in reality this machine will 100 % compatible with original Switch games, but also support games that are exclusive to it. Then it dawned on me, Nintendo will call this console the Switch Plus. Remember that you heard it here first.
Nintendo will also make a promise that all of their own first party games will work on the original Switch. The Switch Plus is only a requirement for some third party games such as new Far Cry games, but Nintendos own games will look better on Switch Plus.
@Ninfan
It was Konami's decision to name their DDR series with Plus name. Not my decision.
I just thinking maybe upgraded Switch will have Plus name as other company Konami named their upgraded DDR series with Plus name. Same thing happened to MaiMai machine by SEGA, every half semester there will be Plus upgrade via online.
And Goodness knows
The wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...
I'd prefer Super Switch. That's surely the qualifier that Nintendo have got the most mileage out of over the years.
There's no consistency at all to how they name more advanced versions of consoles though so they'll probably just pick something completely different again.
