Interestingly, even though I bought it primarily for the portability, I ended up playing DQXI S primarily on the TV. Which is fine, because, even playing primarily on the TV, it's still the best version of the game thanks to the improved music and QoL improvements.
Anyway, the Danganronpa and Zero Escape games should all have been ported to the Switch at this point. It's insane that the remake of a NDS game is on PS4 but not Nintendo Switch (referencing the remake of 999 for The Nonary Games collection).
Too many to count. Google an all-time best games list for Xbox, PS2, 360, or PS3 and you could probably put together a list of several hundred games rated 70+ I wouldn't mind having on Switch. The top five most desired for me would probably be Radiant Silvergun, The Orange Box, Beyond Good & Evil, Rez HD, and Shadow Complex.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,241 games (as of March 23rd, 2024)

I'd like to see guardian heroes remastered, shadow tactics, the first nier. With the touchscreen, why not some rts games, age of empires, starcraft 1/2

Pretty much this.
But my personal requests would be:
*Advance Wars collection
Mass Effect Trilogy
Star Wars KOTOR 1+2
Kingdom Hearts - the whole darn franchise*
For an optimal handheld experience, short booting/loading times is an absolute must, as well as the ability to save virtually anywhere. Payday 2 doesn't allow saving mid-heist, and as much as I enjoyed what I had played of it, this simple fact makes it an awful, awful handheld game, as heists can potentially take hours.
Honestly, I would just be satisfied with official GB/GBA emulators for Nintendo Online like what they do with NES/SNES. I would love to go back and play some of my old favorites from those platforms.
A lot of the games I would think of have already been mentioned, but basically a ton of RPGs and Vita games that I really love. E.g.
1. The Danganronpa series
2. Zero Escape series
3. Persona 4 Golden
4. Fire Pro Wrestling World
5. 428 Shibuya Scramble
6. Skies of Arcadia HD (please Sega!)
7. Power Stone Collection
8. Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 (I mean, they're on Android and iOS devices...)
9. Mass Effect Trilogy
10. Nier 1 (or the new remaster)
11. NieR Automata (probably wouldn't run, but I can dream)
12. Shenmue Collection
@spiderman0616 : I would rather Nintendo release retail compilations with a bunch of GB/GBC/GBA ROMs on them (and perhaps sell them a la carte via the eShop), and ideally with customisation options such as colours for monochromatic games and Super Game Boy colours/borders for compatible titles.
Split screen and wireless local multiplayer support would also be amazing.
I bought Collection of Mana primarily for the novelty of having a Game Boy game on a Switch cartridge.
Nearly all games are perfect for handheld gaming. I never understood why people thought that handheld games had to be these simple experiences that you can easily pick up and put down. Honestly, being able to put down a game stopped being a problem with the DS. 16 years ago.
Yes, there will be that odd game that is best played sitting in front of a giant screen and there will be the odd game that is best played on a handheld, but those are the exception, not the rule.
Maybe I'm spoiled by the original Pokemon games being one of my first games in general. But those games I played for HOURS on end. I never picked it up, played for a couple minutes, then saved and put down.
We're still waiting for Star Ocean 2nd Evolution R, @Slowdive.... I've said about the Shadowrun games being great for Switch before, in a similar thread, too
