Of course it is Paul Tassi, how did this guy ever become a voice people listen to? All he does is keep the kind of videogame blog I would have kept at like 14, but somehow gets paid to do it and call himself a journalist? Do I sound bitter and jealous? Hell yeah. His "articles" are usually more fluff than my morning work email, but everyone seems to look at him as some wise sage. I wish I was in that position.

The replies are kinda funny but yeah fanboys will be fanboys.

On the topic of the article though, it does raise some good points, specifically these ones I agree with the most:

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a game more or less devoid of art direction. These environments are barren and ugly and empty. The character models are barely passable, and look okay for the cartoony style of Pokémon and trainers, but only just. And the environments, both city and in the wild, are simply not acceptable, and no amount of new footage is changing this.

While yes the switch is underpowered there are still plenty of good looking games on the console, that push it to the limit like, Botw, XC2, Metroid Dread, Rise, and the author brought up a good point about having a good art direction which he said that Legends lacks. A game can still look good while at the same same being technically unimpressive as long as it has a good art direction for lack of a better term - "distract you'. Which is true to some extent imo.

However from at least from what we were shown the game managed to have some visual upgrades.
In its first reveal it looked absolutely terrible with the whole game being blurry as hell and the framerate being even worse somehow.
With the more recent trailers from the very least its an improvement from what we were first shown and its a huge step up from Sword and Shield (I know it isn't saying much but still...).

With that said I guess the only thing left I could say is we'll have to wait and say for the full game and considering how little we actually know it could be a hit or miss quality and performance wise.

I love Pokemon, but lets be honest ... even a turd that has the Pokemon logo slapped on top of it will sell well.

GameFreak must evolve (pun intended)! But instead they prefer to stay the same just like Ash's Pikachu

The game's graphics look alright. Pokemon's graphics have never been great, and this is pretty much the best they've ever been. I get it, TPC has the most money, so I'm a shill for saying this, but I don't care. As long as the game has good gameplay, I couldn't care less about how it looks, unless the graphics are burning my eyes out. Do I wish the graphics were better? Yep. Do I ever think they will be? Nope.

Slightly off topic, but could someone tell me what Forbes actually does? All I know them as is the magazine for/of rich people, is there more depth than that assumption?

It's weird how Forbes is like this supposedly super legit thing, and yet has generic complaining video game articles.

That's probably the only interesting thing about this, yes Pokemon's games have looked increasingly underwhelming for nearly a decade now. We all noticed, thank you.

I think that a lot of the opinions about the graphics are overblown in their negativity, and that this article may fan the flames unnecessarily.
YET
The fact this comes from such a "prestigious" magazine/site/publication means that it might reach an affluent/important associate of the PCI, get them to think "yeah, this is not a good look", and hopefully lead to someone in charge allowing the visuals to reach a better standard to more people (and not at the expense of everything else). Kind of a pipe dream, but still.

TBH I didn't have high standard for this games graphics to begin with, its not that bad, Yes they could be amazing, yes they could be on kirbys, BOTW, Mario ody level, but its not, and we all know gamefreak at this point, as long as its fun, it should be fine.

And those who don't want to buy it because you want gamefreak to change, your right, Money talks, as long as people buy the game like this, they will keep doing it, But at least the animations are better.

Sorry but I'm going to need to pull that bandaid off of you, it isn't happening especially since the game releases this month, any last minute changes wont be significant at all visual wise and at most they'll be bug fixes. Plus its gamefreak.

Forbes is salty because they need to work in order to make money, while Gamefreak just lazy out and sell millions.
Forbes is jealous.

Next pokemon will be awesome, guess what? A gen 1 remake!!! (with features removed, because features are hard to do and Masuda gotta travel some more).

I think I recall Paul Tassi also saying that the switch was going to be a failure like the dream cast back in year one. Oh well...arceus here I come!

@NintendoByNature If they said that i'm not trusting a thing that comes out of there mouth.
