@BruceCM I've seen the difficulty of IV on DS mentioned in a couple of YT videos and a few places elsewhere online. The story apparently isn't one to miss though.
I have Final Fantasy III/VI on the SNES Classic. It was one of the reasons why I decided to grab one in late 2018 when there was a new run of the consoles. I was afraid if I waited too long, it'd be scalped to death.

Cool, I can still help if you do play IV GBA, too, @Tyranexx.... I'll double check about the SNES version of VI but I'm sure it was just the added dungeons in the GBA & later versions
Whenever you get around to one of them, let me know how it goes, anyway
@BruceCM I'd consider picking them up, but TBH outside of the original, I'm not really interested in II and III. I've heard V is worth playing, so I'd definitely consider that on the Switch!

III is pretty good. though, @Tyranexx .... I wouldn't even recommend II & I is good for nostalgia or to see the origin of the series I've got most of the FF games on Steam now, to have them together but I'd far rather have the earlier ones on Switch
@BruceCM To see where the series began is mainly why I'm interested in trying the first FF. I've heard mixed things about III and might possibly try it way down the line, but it's not a huge priority right now.

III is absolutely the best of the first three FF games (the 3D DS remake, anyway), but I want to point out that the remakes of FF I + II on the GBA (the Dawn of Souls collection) are quite updated and worth playing, imo.
What, they're better than the equivalent on PSP, @Ralizah .... ? Can't remember exactly what that collection was called! But I think it had the same content? Those optional extra dungeons were NOT fun
@BruceCM No idea. I wasn't aware they were on PSP (I usually avoid PSP remasters, as I disliked the smoothed out, mobile game-y look of JRPGs on that system). I thought the shrines were an OK challenge, though. Although I'll admit I ducked out after Hellfire Chasm/Cove (something like that) that featured the four fiends from FFIV.
Besides the extra content, I feel like the upgraded presentation made it much more fun to play. Mechanically, the first FF was already a pretty solid game.
Eh, I'm thinking for someone who hasn't played them before, going back to it after playing later ones, @Ralizah .... I'm glad they took that content out of the Android version, though
Can't speak for FFII but the other FFs up to VI are well ported, @DenDen .... Some complain about the graphics style in V & VI, though? Then, FFIX is nicely done, too but for some reason, the touch-screen controls in VII aren't, as they put 'buttons' for all the controls around
