Topic: Does Last Resort still have 1 hit kill gameplay?

Last Resort on NeoGeo was one of my most favorite 2 player co-op games of all time! Whenever my friend and I went to the arcades, we just couldn't leave the place without pumping a couple dollars into this game!

Then one day thanks to... coughmamecough... I could finally play this game in the comfort of my own home! Except I was alone when I first tried it and this is when I discovered this game is near impossible to finish without a 2nd player!

1 hit and you die! But not only that, you restart at the beginning of the level or the mid-level check point.

Does anyone know if the Switch version was fixed for single player? Don't get me wrong, I want to play with a 2nd player every now and then, but when I'm alone, I would like to enjoy it too! But not if the game still has 1 hit kills and sends me all the way back to the beginning of the level.

Because when you're playing with a 2nd player, if 1 player dies, as long as the 2nd player is still alive on screen, you can join back and continue. I think if both players died at the same time then you both restart at the beginning, but I don't remember.

What do you mean by fixed? It's not broken, it was designed that horribly difficult on purpose. It's one of the nastiest shooters on the Neo-Geo arcade format. Even on the most easiest difficulty (1, 7 is max) it's still enough to drive some people nuts. Hamster with their ACA releases are taking arcade titles and emulating them, so you get what you get and you deal with it, tweak the difficulty down and work up, or just give up basically as it's not damaged. I've got a Neo Geo cabinet and have the game through a multicart and it's nasty. I avoid it, prefer Blazing Star, Strikers, both Aerofighters, Andro Dunos, Ironclad, Ghost Pilots even.
