Topic: Diablo 2 Resurrected

So there was no thread for this beauty.

I LOVE Diablo 2 as I grew up with it.

The features packed in this remaster and bringing it to the consoles are amazing.

You can change from the 3d to the 2d of the fly!

Just put it on the cartridge I will buy it day 1!

I cannot wait for this - will buy it on both switch and series x.

I bought Diablo 3 on the pc, Xbox 360, Xbox one and switch - not to mention upgrading to reaper of souls etc. I still play it almost 10 years after launch.

I've got no interest in Diablo myslef but I watched the Blizzcon event after I heard they got Metallica to play on Twitch for the occasion but weren't allowed to play their own songs so instead they put elevator music over them. lol

I’m down for this on Day 1.

Cautiously enthusiastic. I'm worried about this version considering the state Warcraft III Reforged arrived in. But Blizzard brought Vicarious Visions into the project recently to make sure the final product is atleast competent and not the sloppy mess W3R was.

It's much too early to tell if this will receive a physical release or not.

I certainly hope that it does of course.

They learned their lesson from Warcraft III Reforged, it seems. You can opt for the old graphics, it's not always online, and they're not forcing people to upgrade if they don't want to.

My biggest question is whether I wanna buy this for my PC or Switch. I'd probably get to play it more on my Switch, but this is just such a classic point-and-click game for me.

@Magician You as a physical gaming enthusiast do you think they will skip a proper physical edition?

Yea, if I like it enough and get into it enough I can definitely get both. We'll see. My friends were HUGE into Diablo II when it first came out all those years ago. I wouldn't doubt some of them are part of the hardcore audience that still play it today. I liked it a lot, but I would mostly just play through and beat it with each character once or twice.

I will wait till after the reviews are in before getting hyped for this game. I don't need it to be a diaster like the Warcraft III Remaster.

I will be buying this both on PC and Nintendo Switch, because of cross-progression!

I will probably get this one on switch as for some reason I prefer the controller inputs instead of tradicional m+k (although I cannot live without it for FPS, RTS, etc)

This will be my first title that I bought, not Free to Play, on multiple platforms!

So I contacted Blizzard support about the physical edition of the game and here is the "answer":

They just tell you what you already know and even asked and call it a response

Yea, I'm torn. As always, it's cheaper for them if they just forgo a physical release, but this is a pretty popular game and they could definitely sell some higher-priced collector's physical editions with some goodies.

This is one of the games I'm looking forward to. Diablo 2 is the time of my youth have a lot of sentiment for this game.

I hope they add some "quality of life" improvements. I reinstalled Diablo 2 on my PC recently, and man is it clunky and slow.

We're only a couple months away from release...and still no word on a physical release.

If it is a budget title I don't mind it to be physical but if it is a 40$ or more I will skip it

I'm not quite that sore about it. We've got physical copies of D3 and that's good enough for me. Although I wonder if Activision Blizzard's answer just pertains to the North American region? I think Play-Asia still has Diablo II Resurrected listed as a preorder for a Southeast Asian physical release on Switch.
