I think it's funny that people would complain about the difficulty of dark souls on switch. I had no idea Nintendo players hated challenges! Do they want a participation award if they can't beat Zelda or are they gunna cry to their mommies to talk to Reggie about perhaps getting a free switch game. I guess they never played the original nes where challenge was the name of the game. Battle toads, ninja gaiden, ghosts and goblins, contra etc all were very challenging. I think the dark souls trilogy would only diversify the games the switch has.
As for people saying they noticed a downgrade in textures so it might be the switch. I didn't really notice a difference I was trying to compare side by side but couldn't see a downgrade, if this was indeed on the switch that is a superb port and if it's real then I have hope for other graphically intense games in the future.
@KirbyTheVampire
Well sure, I do too. I didnt mean to say Zelda is as hard as Dark Souls.
I meant it's a difficult game and you die alot, and that's good. Because then other hard games (like Dark Souls, like Monster Hunter, games that almost certainly will come to Switch) might actually have a chance of selling very well thanks to Zelda finally getting Nintendo only gamers to taste the hardcore rainbow.
Yeah, that's true, especially after the Wii U, which from what I've seen will be decidedly less hardcore than the Switch in terms of the games it'll get, at least initially. Who knows how hardcore it'll ultimately be, though. Nintendo has been kind of wishy-washy on who they're selling this thing to. The initial reveal trailer showed games like Skyrim and Zelda, but the vast majority of the rest of their marketing has been focused on 1-2 Switch, with the exception of the Superbowl commercial, which showed only Zelda. Maybe they're trying to sell it to casuals and hardcore players alike, but I wish they would show a blend of the different games available in their commercials, rather than totally focusing on either the hardcore or the casual games.
Whoops! NOT HAPPENING. Now they've edited the video and Removed "Captured on Switch" and now mentions "Captured On PS4"
I would have loved for this to happen but I think we're still getting something down the line as Fromsoftware have been mentioned in the third party support.
@Kuhang Yeah, let's be honest. That wasn't a leak. Even if they somehow got their hands on a copy of DS on the Switch (why in the first place?), would anyone be really stupid to accidentally use that version to record footage? Even if they had a copy, I still don't understand why you would record an inferior version when you have the PS4 version. Especially if the video doesn't even mention the Switch at all. Either it's a conspiracy or their editing team goofed out! I think I know which one it is
Quite bad then that some of the posters referenced graphics and frame rates at sub par PS4 level. "It must be on on the Switch because it looks so poor" "Actually it's PS4 footage" "Damn it" lol
@Kuhang well thats lame. Why can't it have been taken down and they say "oops we werent suppose to show that. Stay tuned to e3" or something. I bet when e3 comes around there isn't going to be any 3rd party announcements and even games like metroid wont even be at e3. There will be the games we already know about and a playeable mario.
"Hey everyone! Previously, this video labeled the Dark Souls III: The Ringed City gameplay as being captured on Switch.
This was a mistake and the video has now been updated to correctly label it as PS4 footage. Thanks for anyone who pointed that out for us"
To be honest when I first saw this video today I thought the graphics seemed a little off. To be fair it's most likely just down to the video compression.
Seeing the comment section on the front page. Apparently people do think it's some weird conspiracy thing and GameSpot actually showed Switch footage of DS3... lol
