Yo. I love every bit of this game I see. This is my most hyped game of the show aside from Smash Bros. I can't wait!! Xenoblade X Skells mixed with Bayonetta 2 Umbran Armor???? YES PLEASE!!!!!
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
This looks like a great game.. though I wish it had been a Gundam title instead as all the elements are there - even if Gundam isn't so huge in the US/UK, it'd still have more brand recognition than a new property. But meh.. this still looks GREAT. Hoping it play as good as it looks!!

So it took me a bit to find out who was even making this game. When I saw Marvelous, for a moment I thought it might've just been a crazy new direction for Vanillaware. OH I WISH. But the developer is First Studio, and the only thing I could find is that they are making God Eater 3, as of a couple of months ago.
...what a bizarre game to start an E3 conference. Microsoft starts with Halo, Sony starts with Last of Us 2...Nintendo starts with a mech game from a developer I'm not sure has released a game yet. Which is kinda awesome in a way, but still really weird. I guess they got rewarded for making a Switch exclusive with that type of exposure!
Here's the tidbits in it if you don't want to open link:
Daemon X Machina is an Unreal Engine 4-based mech action game led by former Armored Core developer Kenichiro Tsukuda, who summarized the game as “Armored Core with destructible environments.”
Players will be able to buy and carry a host of weapons, including laser swords and bazookas, as well as unlock new mechs, pick armor, and customize for durability, mobility, and more.
“Orders” are mercenary missions that earn you money. The Orders you choose determines how the story progresses, as well as your allies.
With destructible environments, even buildings can be made to collapse on top of enemies. Players can lift and throw cars, tear out sign posts and use them as swords, and pick up weapons dropped by fallen enemies. There may also be hidden items on top of buildings.
“We deliberately made this easy to get into, but there is depth to the gameplay as well,” Tsukuda said.
On multiplayer, Tsukuda said, “We’re thinking about ways for everyone to play together, but we’ll introduce exactly how we plan to do that at another time.”
The fact Nintendo opened with this game, a game featuring heavy metal and mechs, makes me very excited about Nintendo's future. Daemon X Machina looks and sounds fantastic! It's become one of my most anticipated games!
Watched the trailer a few times now, the game looks superb. They haven't really talked about the multiplayer but Armoured Core has online mech battles so I assume this will have too, only with destructable environments to make it even more awesome . With the developers experience in these kind of games and Nintendo's backing behind them this could turn out be something really special, the fact they opened the Direct with it means Nintendo think so too.
Jaded Nintendo "Fan": dude, E3 was terrible, Nintendo are treading water, same old franchises, they haven't tried a new IP in so long.
Random mech combat fan: well, they opened the presentation with a look at a whole new IP featuring mech battles intotally destructible environments, from the guy who made Armored Core.
JNF: yeah, but that doesn't count, I meant a new IP that's more like the things I like.
RMCF: so, more of the same old, same old?
JNF: yeah, but NEW!!!

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

The director also worked heavily on FromSoftware's Armored Core series, so I think we can expect a healthy amount of customization.
It also sounds like they're aiming for more accessibility, so hopefully it'll have more accessibly controls than the AC series tended to have - it came from an era where mech games were supposed to feel like you're driving a real bipedal machine, and that's great and all, but....I think most would agree that more intuitive controls are just more fun. I don't think anyone who plays a WWII game, for instance, expects the tanks to be as complex to operate as their real-world counterparts.
Really, this is one of my most-anticipated games, now! I love mech games, I love Armored Core, yet I love that it looks a little different from the other mech and Armored Core games I own! I can hardly wait to play it!
@toiletduck It's mostly about people/soldiers/special forces piloting giant robots/mechs, and fighting each other with weapons and hand to hand combat.
To give you a better idea, here's some gameplay of Armored Core 5, from the same developer, and it is also more or less the same type of game:
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
