Was such a buzz kill. (Also late to the game here) only just finished donating all fossils yesterday

Spent 39 minutes chasing a giant isopod. Absolute chaos.

@BrittGOAL14 Ha, someone else in my household is chasing something and has been for 15 minutes. Hope it’s rare! Any tips?

Oh boy, it was a gigas giant clam! Quite possibly the fastest sea creature in the game, definitely worth 20 minutes!

@foxyflimflam I’m just about to send you a best friend request in-game, as I realised you were on my friend list app!

@BrittGOAL14 @BabyYoshi12 I found a way to limit time chasing the isopod and giant clam....nudge them towards the barrier that is roped off and it will shift back towards you or stop it in its tracks! Works like a charm! (:

The follow up to that video they posted on Nintendolife a while back. Catch it while you can - it was supposedly targeted by Nintendo and taken down originally, but, for now, it's back up again. It's very likely that they'll resubmit their claim (it's demonetized, of course), and it'll be gone for good.

@foxyflimflam That works in this game? Good to know! I haven't gone diving enough yet to have to chase anything, but in New Leaf if a creature went towards the barrier, they just swam past the barrier and you couldn't reach them anymore.

@Xyphon22 Oh I know and that always frustrated me! I decided to try it on new horizons because I was curious if they changed that! (: It's still tricky to catch those super fast ones, but it helps TREMENDOUSLY!!!!!

@Link-Hero Agreed! And I have had horrible luck with random ppl showing up that never comment in the forum, and show up using the code, only to tear stuff up. I will NEVER do that again! I will never understand ppl who like to wreak havoc just for the fun of it. I am always respectful of islands I visit, so I expect the same in return. Unfortunately, not everyone has that mentality ):

I've been seeing a lot of hate towards New Horizons as of late. Most common argument I've seen is it's lacking content previous versions did, that Nintendo patching stuff in later makes it "early access" or something like that.

I could be wrong, but I'm seeing the patches as them trying to keep people engaged with the game for longer then a couple weeks. I can't speak for everyone, but past Animal Crossing games, I would be very into it for a couple weeks, then put it down and never play again. New Horizons has not been that case. I will play actively, put it down for a little bit, but then pick it up again and play just as I would before.

I think them patching things in later is not them taking forever to finish the game, and more them trying to keep players engaged for longer. I could be wrong, but it's what I've seen.

@BenRK I couldn’t agree more! I was at first bummed that the swimming wasn’t included but I know people that were getting bored with it and are now playing again. Now if they’d just sell other colors of the snorkels in Nook’s Cranny or something. 😂

@Link-Hero it's not really on this site. I see it mostly on YouTube and other sites. I don't have a specific example.
