Thanks for the advice @LatsaSpege . Nearly 3 months of playing and that was my first visit to someone else's island.

Hopefully next week will see better prices though I have never seen prices as high as some of the islands on there.

2. What’s the secret behind the gold roses? Absolutely zero luck for WEEKS! I’m at a loss.

@BrittGOAL14 there isn’t any secret to growing gold roses, it’s just luck. Once you water a black rose with a gold watering can, that black rose will keep a ‘tag’ until they produce a gold rose. This is my understanding, I may be wrong though. Sadly you cannot clone gold roses, which makes it harder

@Chimaj Totally! Think I’ve only had shooting stars with her on the island once. According to the guide, though, we only have a 0-1% chance of shooting stars right now.

What's the most efficient way to control where rocks spawn on your island.
I'm paving over my entire island with custom tiles, but is there an easier method?

I'm interested in controlling where fossils appear too (specifically - away from places where I need to remove fences to access - I'm going to pave over those areas, then change the custom design to a transparent one), and while the process of laying down tiles one by one is tedious, removing them after I've done will be equally tedious.

@edhe perhaps using mannequins as suggested in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9QXgwYnkBs. I have not tried this yet but it is something I am considering.
