So, quick question. On the days Redd comes, does he always have a real? He came a few days ago with 3 fakes and a haunted. Haunted paintings still count as fakes, right? Please help me out, I am really confused.

It's Olaf's birthday tomorrow, so at around 1pm today, I sent a birthday gift and letter in the post. Would this be acknowledged as a birthday gift by the game? I'm concerned the game might count it as being received today, and, thus not a birthday gift.
In any case, I have a piece of clothing wrapped and ready to be handed to him tomorrow as well, in case posting gifts cannot be acknowledged as birthday gifts.

@edhe One of my villagers had a birthday a bit ago. They were awake and inside their home the entire day (ignoring normally wake up and sleep times). The insides were decorated and 2 other villagers were inside celebrating with them. The first time you talk to a villager on their birthday, they basically ask if you got them a present and it opens up your inventory.

I should really give out more gifts, I guess. I always send a welcome gift in the post, but my house storage is quickly filling up, so it's probably start handing them out more freely! I'm kinda wanting to collect picture frames, and gifts are a good way of increasing villager affection, I presume.

@edhe I'm pretty sure that you'll need to go in and give them a present tomorrow on their actual birthday for it to count as a birthday present. If we happen to both be online at the same time tomorrow I might actually stop by and give them a present too if that's okay with you as it counts towards the miles reward even if it's not your island.

@BenAV Tell me about this 'miles reward'. I've noticed sometimes when I return from someone's island, I get some miles. Can you tell me the specifics?

I'd be happy to have you over though. Bring a ladder and pole though - I'm nearly finished with the terraforming such that I'll be able to stow my ones indefinitely.

I always take 5 items from my storage and give them to villagers. Just recently I started gift wrapping them. If there is a birthday, make sure you visit the villager with a wrapped gift. I read on a website if you wrap a piece of fruit and give it to a villager, it gives you 8 friend points with that villager. Plus if it’s a non native piece of fruit the villager gives you 650 bells as a thank you.

I’ve made it a habit to craft a wreath for each villagers front door. I know what you mean about storage, I’ve been hovering between 1550-1590 out of 1600 in my storage. I just gave Aaron 90 items for the inventory list and it didn’t even make a dent in my storage space. It’s honestly mostly dolled up from clothing, wood, stones, iron and clay. I guess I should get crafting to use some of it up. Lol 😂

@edhe I mean the little achievements you have to aim for in the Nook Miles+ app (catch a certain number of fish, craft a certain number of tools, etc.). There's one for celebrating birthdays.

Personally, it might help if I start decoarting my house - it's currently bare, mostly. I'd been using it to store turnips, but now that my financial situation is much more comfortable, I don't need to bother with turnips for now.

I'm looking to recreate and modify my New Leaf setup, and that would require suits of armour, which I'll pretend are footmen. Do you know if they appear in this game? I could use a mannequin (again, if they appear in the game), but if it's anything like New Leaf, you'd only be able to set up 4 of them at any one time.
