I visited a mystery island and got Raymond! I'm really surprised. SO that's my final villager now. If I continue to visit mystery islands, will I still come across different characters who I can replace for Diva? I really hope so!
@Sugarkist You need a vacant house plot for villager to appear on mystery island. Villagers should start to try to move out now that you have 10 villagers though.
@Gret8888 You're so right about the game of course, from your post earlier about enjoying it and taking a leisurely pace. I'm starting to be able to do that but am now wondering how to plot my villager's houses. I know the look I want but its different when I've got to put it down on the island than what its like in my head!

Ah! That was the first mystery island I had I visited in order to find a villager so cannot believe I got one of the most popular and most wanted characters on my first try.
I'm hoping Diva will want to just go away now then. I'd also like Monty, Samson/Bettina and possibly Rodney to go so I can get more interesting villagers in place of them. Samson is very same-y all of the time and quite boring. Rodney is ok but I have Flurry moving in tomorrow and she's a much cuter hamster than he is! lol

Place a few pitfall seeds in front of her house, then put up a fence like barbed wire or the spiky fence to keep her from being able to walk around the island, cottage her to her front yard which will be booby trapped with pitfalls. She will get sick of falling into the pitfalls over and over and should have the the thought bubble festering over her head by that same evening or by the next day for sure.

I made sure I didn’t have any SMUG villagers on my island so the percentage of a villager with a SMUG personality showing up at my campsite would significantly increase. I had two other smug campers before Raymond but I didn’t ask them to move to my island.

I have the DIY. I can craft some for you. Send me a FR. I saw the one popular YouTube guy do the pitfall barricade to a villager he wanted out. He said the character was exhausted from falling into pitfall holes all day and by that evening when he went to speak to him, the villager wanted off the island.
My nephew did it with one of his villagers also. It works!

I gave away Dom to someone that really wanted him and didn't have much to offer. Unfortunately, I didn't know my girlfriend really liked him (she still hasn't created a chacrcater in my island, she saw him in a picture too late) so I may trade for him in the future unless I find someone that she prefers. I did get Audie on my campsite and now she's one of my villagers so there's that. I guess I had a reward in the end.

Oh thank you, I didn't know you had to craft them now as they used to get dug up on New Leaf. What materials do you need and I'll send them over? Either that or bells?

It wasn't my first MI visit but it was the first time I went to an island with the specific intention of finding a villager and the first time a villager had shown up as I'd never had a spare plot the previous times I'd visited MI's.
Hey! I'm a newbie to ACNH and really enjoying the game. Only 4 days in so far, but how do you know who's the best villagers to pick from islands I've visited?
Also there is a list of the order the mystery islands appear, but I've been to bamboo island on my second mystery trip? Is that right?

I suggest choosing the ones that you really like more than anything, but if you get one that is considered popular and you don't mind trading it then that's a good option to get another villager you like or more bells and Nook tickets. Usually, the newest ones like Dom, Audie and Raymond are quite valuable for the community since they don't have amiibo cards yet so they can be obtained as easily as the others.
Also, as far as I know, the type of island is random. I might me wrong though.
@VickyP just get a villager you like! I personally love Lucky, so you don’t always have to get a popular one. If you like them, you can get them!
About Mystery Islands, there is no particular order, it’s just percentages. Bamboo island is the most common, with a 10% chance of going there.

@cooldude99 I love Lucky too! I just got him from an island a few days ago and he's awesome. He's also one of the few that has K.K dirge playing on his home. Lucky, Roscoe, Punchy, Audie and Savannah are my favourite. The other 5 will be up for trade or even giveaways. I really want to get Pietro.
