I want to ask very serious question.

This is about Moving Out.
Will the villager moving out by themself if i completely forgot to check them especially after i get hiatus from ACNH for long time and when i return, i'm afraid they will be gone without my acknowledge.

How does the game mechanism set the Moving Out for any villager?
Is there any trick to outsmart the game mechanism so i can ask the villager to stay, NOT moving out and they will be safe for long time hiatus?

If i do Time Travel as necessasry because i cannot play the game by Normal time flow. It's like forcing me to play with the actual time. I will definetely use Time Travel to take control the date and the time, to keep my villagers stay forever if i want to get hiatus from ACNH.

Edit: If someone questioning my motivation to keep my villagers to stay forever because i want them stay forever.
I have chosen Top 10 villagers for my island.
I don't want to lose my favorite villagers after a lot of efforts to get them.
I don't want villagers cycling.
I don't play with Normal time flow because i want to take control the time flow.

@Anti-Matter What determines when a villager wants to move out seems very random to me. When one of them wants to move out they will have a thought bubble over their head when they are outside. By talking to them in that state, you can convince them to stay. I have stopped the process on the first day for everyone who has tired so I do not know many days they will consider moving before they move out without your consent.
If you do not want to play any ACNH at all for a long time but do not want them to leave you could try constantly adjusting the Switch time/date. The new day happens at 5am so if you roll back the time 2 times a day or something It should be possible to stay on the same day forever. The problem with this method is that when you want to start playing again for a current day event/holiday, you'll need to use TT to jump 2 days at a time or something so that you can check in on everyone to make sure they are not moving out.
I hope this answered some questions. Its a playstyle I'm unfamiliar with

Oh, thanks for the tips.

Btw, i still have some questions about Moving Out villagers when i play with Normal flow time after i did some Time Travel to speed up the terraforming process.

1. How many days to take one villager to Move Out after i noticed them thinking about moving out ?
In ACNL before update, it took 5 days to move out, after update it took 10 days to move out.
2. On ACNL after update, when i noticed one of my villager want to move out, after i asked them to stay, i immediately Save the game and i can leave the game as long as i want without losing my villagers.
How about ACNH ?
Can i do the same thing for ACNH ?
Will the other villager suddenly gone (Moving out without my acknowledge) after i ask the villager wanted to move out to stay & i leave the game for long time ?

Yep. BOLD items are things I neither have, nor can order.

I'm going to have a look and see if I have anything you can have FW, if I do I'll just mail them over. I'll also return your other two items you sent over. I'll be going onto my game again shortly.

@Sugarkist i know the feeling about moving the houses, i am doing it for the second time. It's expensive, hoping each week to make a profit on stalk market in order to change things up. I'm being more patient this time around, trying to think a few steps ahead and only committing to what i feel happy with. The island is so big, no idea how i am going to fill it all. How many cafes / restaurants can one island have? I've been watching those island tours on YT for inspiration, most though seem to have been achieved through time travel.

I'm trying to do exactly the same as you are. Trying to think things out carefully well before I move anything. I am not doing too badly in attaining the bells needed to move each villager home.

I know what you mean about the island tours on YT, some of them are absolutely amazing but obviously done with TT or being able to play non stop. I do get inspiration from these videos but I don't have half the items these people have to be able to make my island look even quarter as good as theirs do! Although I am enjoying the pace of the game and going at my own speed, I think once I have everything where I want it I will miss building and landscaping.

I don't know what to make either, you're right about only so many cafe's/restaurants. I'm planning to make a playground and community garden too.

Soon you’ll be saying “why does my island seem so much smaller than everyone’s?”
I’ve moved my villagers houses, my house and the three buildingsat least three times each!
My advice, don’t be in a hurry to move everything yet. Play for a while, get to know the lay of the land and then decide. What sucks too is if you place a building or house off a space or two that you intended, you have to pay another 50;000 bells to move it to a completely different area, and then pay another 50;000 bells to move it back to where you originally intended because it won’t let you move a building anywhere in the vicinity of the already placed building, even if it is the one you need to move only one or two spots to the L or R. “Nook the Crooks” thought of everything! Lol

Ohhhh I already wondered that Gretchen!! Ha ha, I laughed when I read that part of your post

I've already had that misfortune with my museum. I'm thinking I may move it again but not so sure. I also don't know if my campsite is too big. I'm not sure if my rivers/waterfalls are in the right places either. Decisions, decisions! I think I may need more trees.

No sign of Diva getting lost yet. I really want her gone. I'm going to build my 10th house then hope to get a camper or villager on a mystery island so that I can boot her.

@Sugarkist Something you may want to consider with island layout is how convenient/practical it is. I have long rivers to help catch river fish, ramps/paths to connect the NW and NE corner of the beach that allow me do to laps around the island to help catch fish from the sea, multiple ponds to help catch pond fish, tree patterns to make the trunk of trees visible for catching bugs, etc... I know some people prefer to just dig up clams for hours to get huge piles of bait but I would rather just fish normally unless its something especially rare that I'm after.

That's what I'm trying to do too. I find plotting and planning my layout quite stressful at times, probably sounds silly but I do need inspiration as I'm just not good at thinking it up myself.

My turnip prices were 108 this morning, I thought that a bit steep so I didn't bother.

@Sugarkist @Lard_Bucket @Gret888. When i started redesign (for umpteenth time) I started by looking at the river and how I wanted it to go through the island. I want a path around the island that I can follow, a main avenue while also having small "hidden areas". I also don't like making fish bait and am trying to make the river accessible as much as possible. I use the construction tools to mark out where i want the paths and buildings, measuring and remeasuring. I also find it stressful, partly caused by lack of ideas while also knowing what i don't want and not committing for sake of filling the spaces. I continually remind myself that I will play this game for a long time yet and there is no rush. Try to take my time and enjoy the journey.

A villager cannot move out without talking to you first. Look for the thought bubble hovering over their head.

I have given my island a complete and total make over at least three times since the launch in March. You need to take a step back and breathe. Of all the video games that exists, this is the last game that should stress you out. stress you out, it should be fun. What’s awesome about this game, is It never has to end, unless you choose to stop playing. It’s YOUR island. It does not matter what anyone else is doing on their island. Your island should reflect your creativity and personality. Go with what you know you want, and I promise you will begin envisioning ideas that you would have never thought of before digging in.

Just go for it! There is no right or wrong way to play this game.

Mr Luke’s island is awesome. There is so much going on and I loved his little bamboo maze and the Bamboo interior themed house that’s hidden behind the Multiple bamboo trees.
I was there yesterday, seeing his island inspired me to make serious changes to my rivers. Im having major issues with the upper cliffs. I never realized I only have one third level cliff, that’s not good at all. So change is always part of the game.

So, it assumed when i leave the game for long times and after i log in the game, nobody will move out by themself after several days not playing ACNH.

What will happen if i found a villager with thought bubble and i completely ignored them then i leave the game for several days ?
