@jamesnl as far as I know there is only two ways to get a gold rose. And that’s by watering a black rose with a gold can or have someone bring you a gold rose. I believe that’s how the game is coded. When the game was data mined the roses have genes that only produce regular offspring. Only the can gives black roses the necessary marker.

@Lard_Bucket I feel so lucky. 2 days ago I walked past the pier with no intention to fish. Saw a large shadow that intrigued me so I cast my line and caught a Mahi Mahi first go. Meanwhile my wife caught 2 coelacanth last month on her nook trips and wasn’t even looking for it.

@meeto_1 I’ve just caught two coelacanths today, plus 2-3 sturgeons. Is it just me or are sturgeons suddenly more common?

@meeto_1 i googled and there are reports of others getting gold roses with 4 star rating. Maybe caused by that storm / heavy rain yesterday? It was like that all day long. Gold rose appeared in large flower garden area. Got last green mum I needed to by the way. Still no luck on blue windflowers.

@jamesnl the only thing I can think of is that someone could have given you a black rose that already got watered by a gold watering can previously, but still hadn’t produced a gold rose. This would mean that the black rose was still marked as being watered by a gold watering can. I’m no expert at crossbreeding, but I’m not sure how else you would have got one.

@jamesnl windflowers are such a pain. I planted so many white windflowers. I have only seen 2 blues from my whites. Thank god the plants self breed or it would be painful. Funny enough, two blue pansies gave me my first purple this morning. I threw all my hybrid reds away. Also tested my blue hybrid windflowers and have one that can produce purples 25% of the time. Once it does its job that just leaves the blue rose.

Gold roses can’t self breed by the way. So treasure that rose!

@cooldude99 I rarely fish to be honest. I don’t like the randomness of it and sea bass killed most of my enjoyment of fishing. After catching 50 of them it gets pretty old and boring. I will focus soon on getting the Trevaly and some pond fish I’m missing but that’s it.

Guys, I have an OVER abundance of blue wind flowers. I can spare some purple as well if you would like to come dig some up. I’m so aggravated with the purple pansy breeding. My hybrid reds are only producing more reds. As for blue roses, I’ve given up. 😝

Last Sunday I got the last HHA reward, Gold HHA trophy, for reaching 150k. This sunday my house was a mess because I didn't care about them anymore but they mailed me an item that that would usually be in the expensive item slot at nooks

I’ve never really bothered with decorating my house up until now. I’ve completed one room, working on the bedroom now. My only concern is where do I put my turnips?

@cooldude99 I would usually get 3600 turnips so that i could fit all of them in one of the smaller rooms. Every Saturday night I would just decorate the room that had the turnips again because HHA only checks on you Sunday morning.

@Lard_Bucket hmm, that’s a good idea, thanks! Only problem is I normally buy a lot more than 3600, so dunno how that’ll work...
