@BrittGOAL14 That works too. Just let me know when's good for you. If I'm online in game then that usually means I'm available.

These pier only fish aren't cooperating with me x_x
I think I heard somewhere that the mystery tour islands can have them in the sea. Can anyone confirm this?

@Mountain_Man My island is just below "too rural" but still 5 star. I suggest adding ponds/lakes/rivers to keep the rural feel. Something else you could try is having a bunch of tree stumps (they are not counted as trees)

I don't want tree stumps everywhere, I want lots of trees because I like how it looks. So the result is, I don't give a hoot about the rating system. Same reason I didn't care about the Happy Home Academy rating in New Leaf, because how I wanted my house to look wasn't how the game wanted my house to look. Screw that, I'm going to do what I want!

@Lard_Bucket Ugh. No idea. Back to collecting bait to use on the pier... Only to catch a sea bass/olive flounder/horse mackerel.

Doing minor terraforming work. How many spaces high/wide does a body of water need to be to have fish? It’s a pond, by the way.

@BrittGOAL14 3x3 square seems to be required. If you round the edges those count as half grids. The likelyhood of fish spawning there seems to depend on what other water is within the same map grid/screen area.

@Mountain_Man Ugh, same! I worry every single time I talk to Isabelle about that. I still have a few more to plant... I love going and looking at everyone’s elaborate towns but I want mine to look more rural. And because I’m not overly creative. Unfortunate evaluation “rules”.

@cooldude99 I used stone fencing coming froM the airport leading straight (resident services) and also left/right. It’s not much but better than it was.

yeah, my island is not like any of the fancy ones. the only thing i have done so far is put all the villagers in a suburb type area in two rows. which does leave me lots of room to work if i ever get any ideas...I'm like others, I lack the creative spark for the terraforming side. Still enjoy it though...just takes me a while to get something made. I am thinking of putting my museum on a hill and maybe start expanding it into more of a ''town" feel with the houses dispersed throughout the layout of the shops once I get them settled somewhere more permanent. I need to even move my own house eventually, too awkward where its at. But first I am working on the flower hybrids and then I am going to begin rearranging some things. And as for the star ratings, I am still just sitting at 3 stars. I hate to clutter up my island for just the rating this early on when I am going to be moving things.

I’ve just been so unlucky with wasps. I went to chop all my trees to get wood, and the first one had a wasps nest. I chopped the second tree, and that too had a wasps nest. I thought that there just couldn’t be one in the third, so I chopped the third tree. And guess what fell out, a wasps nest xD

@cooldude99 That’s why I shake every tree on my island before gathering wood! With a net so I can catch them, of course.

I too once had three wasps in a row, though I always shake all trees first (or at least until I have found both items and the five wasps nests).

For some reason, I was only finding four wasps per day, but it has since been restored to five for some reason. Maybe April produces only four nests. I don't know.

I don't have NSO, but does anybody know if visitors can recruit animals staying in the campsite?

I intend to use the free trial soon, and I think it would be neat if I can summon a visitor's desired animal with amiibo.

@Lard_Bucket i have caught a few of the pier fish at the mystery islands. I got the Giant Trevally there 2 days ago but was fortunate to find the mahi-mahi on my own island.
