So... I basically spent all day playing this yesterday, and I finally got around to landscaping/designing my island a bit (though I still have a lot of work to do and I don't even know WHAT I want to do with the rest of the island).
For now, I've set up adjoining lots to relocate all of the villagers' homes to. Admiral's already moved in and I have set up Rod's place (with gym equipment scattered around his lawn). There are two rows of four lots and a final row of three lots where the fence leaves the entry open to the secret beach (which is where I intend to relocate the campsite).
I have also put up jail bars in the currently unoccupied properties (except Rod's so that he isn't locked in come tomorrow).
And wouldn't you believe it, when I booted up the game this morning, Redd was skulking within one of the barricaded lots! You can't make this stuff up!
The second (and possibly last) rows were also one tile off in terms of height, so they're a smidge shorter (grr), but it all managed to fit perfectly otherwise (serves me right for not planning everything out properly ahead of time). It would also be way too time-consuming and expensive to fix at this point, so I'll just live with it.
Anyone have a villager that’s moving and doesn’t mind me recruiting to my island? I have an open spot for a villager and have already spend nook miles trying to find one I like but no luck, so before I spend anymore I’d like to ask on here! 😅
Please let my know if you send me a friend request.

Honestly no worries. I figured someone didn’t know about cataloging. I didn’t either until Aaron from Spinach explained it to me. Keep everything, I don’t need any of it. As long as Shepard’s 32 items were still on the beach, and I didn’t include the white rattan low table and towel basket into the items on the ground, all is good.
