My wife has been doing mystery island after mystery island all of them pouring down with rain. She has caught two Coelacanths to my none. Zero bait used. My life sucks.

ROSES - are the only flower capable of having 4 genes (red, yellow, white, shade) which is why they can produce more colors than any other flower in AC.

The P/O combo is more complicated from what I’ve read. The problem with this combo is the purple have to have the dominant Y gene in order for the super red to produce blue. The way you check to see if your P have it, you take the P’s and cross breed them with YELLOW SEEDS. If this combo produces a yellow offspring, then you have a special purple. That special purple when crossed with O can produce a “special red.”
HOWEVER, if the P/Yellow seeds offspring is white, then those purple are not capable of producing a “Special red” in order to get blue roses because the dominant underlying gene is W.

If you are lucky enough to have roses as your native flower or your natives sister flower, then you have a chance of finding Orange roses on a Mystery Island. The Orange roses on the MI have the 4 gene sequence to produce Blue roses (6%) or the Special red (25%) hybrids capable of producing Blue roses.

@Gret8888 I think most of my orange roses are from mstery island but there are some others mixed in. I wasn't aware they made it this complex.

Hey all. Just to clarify, when people leave items on the ground for CATALOGING, you pick the item up, and then you drop it, you don’t take the item back to your island. The item will show up in your catalog where you can then order it.

I left over 30 items on the ground for cataloging, I just checked, I now have 10. I’m sure whoever visited must not have known how cataloging works so I just wanted to clear that up. No worries.

Ugh! Well if you ever get back to the hybrid roses MI, load up on orange, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM OTHER ORANGE! I’d be willing to pay you bells for 2 Orange Mystery Island Orange roses, or I’d trade you 2 MI orange for 2 of my home grown Gold roses 😉

Hey, everyone. I want to thank everybody who has been so nice on here and shared their fruit and flowers and things. I don't know if your Switch would tell you this or if you would never know if I didn't tell you, but I'm going to clear out my friends list. Not because you are not friendly or anything, but just because I find it super annoying that my Switch keeps sending me popups about who is online and the phone app thing keeps popping up in the corner of Animal Crossing even when no one is playing. And now that I have all the fruit, all the normal flower colors, and all the Nook Miles from visiting 10 islands (and hosting 10 visitors), I don't have the need to visit other islands anymore. So thanks everyone! And I'll still post on here if I get like 700 turnip prices or someone is crafting a gold space station or something like that and you can either re-friend me or I'll just use a dodo code or something.

@jamesnl I need both colors of the diner chairs and that cream curved diner counter so I would LOVE to catalog those sometime! Was there anything else you saw on my island you wanted to catalog? Or anything you are on the search for that I can be on the lookout for as well?

Understood, hate to see you go, but understood. You can stop the pop ups on the switch in your settings I believe. Take care and have fun.

@Xyphon22 You can use the Best Friend feature to limit the online notifications to people you’re really interested in, but fair enough if you want to limit your friend list to people you actually know!

@Gret8888 I'm still here, just decluttering real life and the Switch (which is something I really need to get around to doing on my island, too). Although last night my son went around and utilized his new water crafting tool to do all kinds of "great" and "fun" stuff on our island, including digging a moat around his sister's house so she can no longer leave her new tiny little island in the middle of our bigger island. Good times.

@Pink_Yoshi It's not immediately obvious what people mean by cataloguing until it's explained to you so it's an easy mistake to make.
