I'm new to the game and can you guys tell me what is the point of donating to the museum. Is there a reward for doing so.

@Fujin I believe the main reason to donate to the museum is the sense of accomplishment that you get out of it. It starts completely empty and gradually looks nicer as you increase the collection. The recent update allows players to start collecting art from Redd to put in the museum as well. Supposedly if too few bugs/fish/fossils have been donated, Blathers will not mention wanting an art section.
