well, i now have one black rose, by accident of sorts. i moved several roses (my islands main flower) into a different area, and happened to put the red ones together. at the time i didn't realize the red ones produced the black....well, i suppose that's a plus.

I’m terrible at crossbreeding to make hybrids...

I’m decent at it. I got one purple hyacinth last week and haven’t seen another. Plenty of blue pansies but no purple. Black tulips galore. No purple! One black lily and one orange. Pink mums and a couple pink windflowers. The rest are driving me nuts.

I want to see your set up. I don't have purple hyacinth. You can see my island too. I have a few you don't have.

All I have is pink tulips, pink, orange and black lillies, and pink and purple mums...

@MyNameIsRandy For sure. It wasn’t even planned. I just had 3 blue hyacinths close together and woke up to a purple one. Been trying to get more since! 3x1 or 2, I think. Lucky, I guess.

@BrittGOAL14 really i heard they came from orange hyacinth but I do have a lot of blue ones together for peacock butterflies

The only people I've seen good had a ton of flowers. Had them everywhere. Sounds like friends watering people's flowers can help too. I had a few different people water mine today to see.

@MyNameIsRandy thanks. I’ve set up a new flower area, and I’m still working on it. Hopefully I can get a few more hybrids using a bigger area.

I've opened my island for friends. Shops are closed but it's night time and raining so chance for rare fish. I'm northern hemisphere.

@MyNameIsRandy I placed blues in the X pattern for purple hybrids, I got a lot of white and a decent amount of blues, but never a purple. Well, after it rained for a couple days, a purple hyacinth appeared where I had only orange and yellow hyacinths lined up as decoration against a wall. Your very best chance of breeding a lot purples is If your native flower is hyacinth, or your native flowers sister flower is hyacinth. That means you have the the chance of landing on Hybrid Hyacinth mystery island consisting of pink, orange and blue hybrids. If your goal is to breed a lot of purple, then fill your pockets with all the orange you can carry, then blue, and pink.
KEEP MI ORANGE FLOWERS SEPARATE FROM ALL ORANGE HYACINTHS YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE ON YOUR ISLAND. ITS SUPER IMPORTANT NOT TO MIX THEM TOGETHER.

Find a large area on your island where you can plant the orange in an X pattern, water everyday, or better yet, pray for rain cuz that’s when they start multiplying like crazy. Purple chances are increased when the oranges come from MI. Blue hyacinths cross breed with blue can also spawn purple, however the percentage is higher with orange on orange.

Orange x orange = any color except pink. Chance of purple, 6%
Blue x blue = blue, white very low chance of purple

Trust me, I’m about ready to sell every flower I have and start all over, straight from seeds. Why do I love cross breeding flowers so much? UGH
