@Zuljaras It's completely playable offline, but they are giving tons of contents for free updates.
Like the 23rd April update will give Art branch to the museum, then you can buy bushes from a new NPC, and then you can also buy painting / statue from Redd who will dock at the secret beach. (Be careful on buying counterfeit drawing/statue though, those can't be donated but genuine one can)
Not sure about the wedding event, but these are the ones I know
New update looks amazing! Although I hope Red's "mini game" is more interesting than it was in New Leaf where you had a 75% chance of being ripped off if you weren't intimately familiar with famous works of art (or didn't refer to a gameplay guide).
Also, the Nook twins will be updating their shop on my island tomorrow, so lots happening in Animal Crossing for me this week!
Isabelle has announced the closure of Nooks Cranny tomorrow for a remodel!!! For those who are wondering what triggers it to upgrade, I fully believe it mostly has to do with time spent playing. I got the game on release day and have played everyday! So glad that it is FINALLY updgrading!!!!! 🤘🤘
You are knowledgeable Could you also tell me the situation about the custom designs, you know the things that you can put on walls, floor etc. Like you draw on Paint and use it.
I know that you need to unlock it but is there a limit on how many patterns you could do etc. Any limitations on that feature?
@Zuljaras No prob There's 2 patterns you can do, one for the one on wall / floor and such, and the other is for outfits. Both have around 50 design limit, with 10 premade designs already made. (So you have 10 predesign, then 40 empty ones, but you can overwrite the premade, making a total of 50)
The limits are kinda on the fact it's pixel canvas, and the colors you have depend on the palette you chose. You can read more on the tools they gave on the wiki link up there c:
Guys I have read some articles and I am confused. Is ACNH playable offline? I mean without updates etc. just from the cartridge? The online stuff is only for visiting other people or seasonal events?
If by "playable offline", you mean multiplayer isn't a requirement then, yes. Animal Crossing can be enjoyed as a 100% solo experience — that's how I'm playing it since I don't have the online subscription.
However, playing without updates is going to severely limit your experience because it looks like there is going to be a LOT of post release content by way of free updates. The updates do not require you to have an online subscription, so as long as you can get your Switch connected to the internet, then you'll get the updates.
@Mountain_Man Yes I am aware of that I was just asking of the base features could be enjoyed just from the cartridge. As I see it they are so many.
I will be updating the game with the events I ask this for almost every questionable game for the sole purpose of preservation and not invest in something that is barren from the start and they fill it with updates later.

@MyNameIsRandy Yeah, thankfully it doesn't matter whose island you make wishes on, you still get the stars. Standing around making wishes is much more fun with others.

I think the base game that comes on the cartridge is reasonably complete in that it has all the basic features you need to enjoy the game. The core of Animal Crossing is still there with the collecting and customizing, and it goes a step further than previous games by allowing you to freely decorate and alter your entire town literally from the ground up with the new terrain sculpting tools, but things like seasonal events, the expanded museum with art gallery, additional shop upgrades, bushes, and so on will be unavailable without an update.
