It’s always the villagers I like that say they want to move. With there being 300+ villagers, I’d love to see new ones but I’ve yet to decide if I want to lose Bettina or not. 😂

I've only had one villager tell me they want to move, but it was while I only had 6 or 7 so I didn't want her to go. Now I have 10 and two of them are chickens so I'd be fine with her leaving but now she won't.
I also got an S rank on my house and a gold plaque today even though my house is basically just junk on the floor because I ran out of room in my inventory. It's a little sad that it requires no effort to get a good rank in this game, you apparently just get points for each item in your house. It was such a good feeling of accomplishment to finally get the highest rank in New Leaf through creating themes and feng shui and everything.
@Pink_Yoshi That's okay, can't help myself when I see an unfinished project, haha.
I put in 70k as that's what I had on me but I think @Lard_Bucket put some in before me too.
@Pink_Yoshi Something else you can do to help get money early on is to craft wallpaper with your native fruit. Everyone should get the recipe for wallpaper of their native fruit when setting up the homes for the 3rd-5th villager houses. Native fruit usually sells for 100 each but if you craft the fruit wallpaper of your native fruit it should sell for 4,000. It requires 20 fruit which would usually be bad but, in this instance you have doubled the value of the native fruit.
(Do not craft and sell fruit furniture for non-native fruit, the value usually decreases)
Also over the past couple of days and nights and I have spent who knows how long (not an exorbitant amount of time, but quite a bit) and probably over 50 fish baits just throwing them off the end of the pier and catching sea bass with the occasional red snapper trying to get a tuna before April is over. Then today I left my daily visit to Able Sisters and decided to walk by the pier since it is right there and bam. Tuna. Stupid fish. At least I caught one, though.

Its really helped a lot - thank you to you and @LardBucket as it was going to take me ages to finish! As you can see my island is bad at the moment but I'm working on it as much as I can
If either of you need anything in return just let me know
@Xyphon22 I had the same difficulties with it but have since found that I catch better fish when throwing off the side of the pier. Spent days trying to catch one... I’ve caught several (of course with bait) since. 🙄

@Xyphon22 I was trying to fill all rooms of my home with matching theme furniture and managed to get a score of 231,609... but the mail is just now congradulating me on reaching 70,000. I guess I'll need to wait a couple weeks for it to catch up. haha

Thanks very much for all these tips, I will do this, I didn't know you could create wallpaper from the fruit, I'll look out for the recipe
Do you guys always want to know when Celeste is on my island?
@Pink_Yoshi Yes, please let us know when Celeste is visiting or a villager is crafting. Both are valuable sources of DIY recipe that can be shared with friends.
@Pink_Yoshi I've been trying to get a recipe from Celeste daily which usually involves me having to ask around on Facebook in the evening so I appreciate it. Saves me some trouble when people say when they have her.
Ok no problem, I'll be sure to let you both know via the forum when she is on my island And if anyone else would like to visit when Celeste is around just let me know and I'll add you as a friend.
Question re the shooting star pieces, do you just press the A button once when you see it or mash it a few times? I've spotted 3 tonight and have mashed the button so I'm hoping to find some fragments in the morning! Also, what does the star wand do exactly?
