Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here, check out our guide: Nintendo Switch 2 Guide: Ultimate Resource.

Would also be interested to hear the opposite, if there’s something that’s not a good experience on Switch 2.

If there are games that get a little something extra in your experience with Switch 2, let’s hear what those experiences are..

Apparently Alan Wake has some issues. Maybe that could be interesting to check out.

On the other hand, apparently the issues that made Hyrule Warriors a bad port on the Switch, make it a better port on the Switch 2. It is a bizarre case of a game that targets 1080p on handheld mode (yes, even though the Switch 1 didn't have a 1080p screen!).

Bloop.

@Eel interesting! I will definitely try out Hyrule Warriors among a handful of other Switch 1 purchases.

Wasn’t expecting to get to try out the Switch 2 anytime soon, but my brother randomly bought one he saw while at the store, lol. So nows my chance to see what the quirks and perks of the translation tech are..

Tried out Spyro Trilogy. On Switch the downgraded port was pretty smooth and so not much that’s significant on Switch 2. However I feel it’s a better experience in handheld now. Motion clarity is just a bit better. Something that really bothered me on Switch with this game

All of them.

Compatibility concerns aside, the extra memory bandwidth (assets loading faster) of the Switch 2 should make every Switch 1 experience better. Straight up.

Another dynamic res game like Spyro, Darksiders 2 is similarly a better experience in handheld

Ghosts n goblins resurrection looks very crisp in handheld. Not sure if all 2D games look as crisp as this but I’m guessing not.

So I was randomly testing games and realised that Resident Evil Revelations 2 of all games appears to now run at 60 handheld? And the resolution appears to be higher as well?

Not sure what exactly is going on here, this game was 30 capped on Switch 1.

The load times are horrendous though, I'm not sure why but this game appears to not be taking advantage of the faster read speeds at all.

The most bizarre port by far. I'm genuinely confused, got no idea how to make sense of this. The game obviously didn't get a patch.

Can confirm also that Hyrule Warriors looks fantastic at 1080/60 handheld. Genuinely worth replaying.

Minecraft also appears to look and run fantastic despite no patch being announced yet, the only real thing missing is longer view distances. I'm guessing this one will come very soon.

anyone tried MHRise/Sunbreak yet?

@Varkster nice, excited to get to HW after I work through my library. Presently testing the Switch 2 on my CRT to see how it all looks

Serious Sam 3 looks still like ass but runs and loads way faster.

Can anyone confirm if the Ninja gaiden master collection still lags on switch 2? I have the collection so I'll test it after a while but if anyone has already tried let me know.

Need to dive deeper into my library but so far the standout is Clubhouse Games. Before GameShare and GameChat it's a game that's kinda pointless because the main value requires convincing people to bring their Switch and then download a demo to play a card game or Yahtzee. Which is a hard ask given, well, you're all together and could just grab a deck of cards

But with GameShare and GameChat? Suddenly you have something light to wind down with between rounds of Mario Kart or something. With just a few buttons. And because most of the games are fairly static the video feed, I assume, holds up very well indeed

Basically a must get title now. IMO

Tried out Trials of Mana on Switch 2. This game could look pretty muddy in handheld on Switch. It actually put me off from playing it. In handheld on Switch 2 the visuals look much better and no stutter from the changing resolutions
