it would be cool to finally have another direct, i can't even remember the last one i watched! i think it was last september? even then, it was a major disappointment... the last time i actually got excited over a direct would have been like what, 2023? 2024?
@Tayrailbridge So Jeff Grubb is also saying the 9th. So if Nate the Hate says the 9th there's little room for doubt anymore. If he contradicts Jeff Grubb and Nash Weedle though... that's going to be very interesting. That means one or all of these three are full of it (more likely Nash and Jeff because Nate's track record is practically immaculate).
That being said, the 9th may be an easy prediction anyway. This week is bad because of the State of Play and SGF. The third and fourth week are bad because of the World Cup and the release of Star Fox. Really the only good days for them that's free from those distractions are the 9th and the 10th, which is right in between SGF and the World Cup. And Nintendo tends to like Tuesdays so the 9th makes sense.
Just something I’ve been thinking about recently, but I’m interested to see if we get any first party Switch 1 games announced next Direct as the March 2025 one had announced all Switch games that came out from then all the way to Rhythm Heaven coming in July. After that, I don’t believe there are any other first party games currently announced for the system. I think it’s a decent amount of games to spread out for about a year after the Switch 2 came out, but might be interesting to see if there is a game or two still coming out.
@yokokazuo I assume they will mostly rely on third party smaller games for Switch 1, but... galaxy 2 port was on Switch 1 right? Maybe the next old 3D zelda or 2D mario port will come to Switch 1. Or Nintendo World Championship: snes edition which I really think will come eventually.
@yokokazuo Nintendo said they'd add NSO voucher games throughout the year and so far there's only been 1 (Tomodachi Life). I'd imagine a few more are coming this year to stay accurate to their comment.
For the Switch one, I'm expecting some Zelda port. I think we're going to see the start of Zelda's 40th anniversary event, and I doubt that they'd leave Switch one users totally empty for this event. Whether this port will be announced at the June Direct, a September Direct, or a Nintendo Today announcement, I'm not sure.

@FishyS oh I forgot about that one, guess those two are games that were announced after the Direct.
@Grumblevolcano ah I do remember hearing that they would be good for future eligible releases.
Bought one last set of the vouchers myself in anticipation for Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven, but Rhythm Heaven looks to be outside of that price point as a cheaper game so I am waiting to see if there’s anything else I’d want before it expires next year.
@UpsideDownRowlet Interesting, it doesn't quite confirm the same date but doesn't contradict it either. I don't really see any other viable alternative during next week besides the 10th though. The 9th feels a tad more in line with their traditional scheduling.
I'll be on my honeymoon on the 9th, so that's absolutely when they're doing the Direct lol
Inevitably, someone had to miss the show for the Direct to appear at all; a sacrifice for the Direct Gods. Thank you for this noble deed. And enjoy your Honeymoon.
