I'm personally not a fan for getting a console, that is essentially the same thing, with a slight upgrade. But MY GOD, this new kirby air rider game got me hooked, so I'm kinda stuck in-between if i should get it, mainly for the game.
@Leafalt I am close to doing it, yes. Not just because of Air Riders, admittedly, but watching the overview trailer a couple of days ago ignited something inside me. I'm not so much drawn to City Trial mode - all those big chunky icons with thick black borders aren't very aesthetically pleasing to me, but the racing just looks crazy good.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
If you can find a demo unit somewhere with the game, or even try a friend's console with the test run demo, I'd do so. To me the game wasn't as fun as the overview trailers made it seem, so I went from wanting to get it to passing on it entirely.
Hell yes, the first was my second favourite GameCube game after Mario Sunshine and it has hundreds of achievements and unlockables that'll probably have me playing it for a loooong time.
I got a Switch 2 at launch but I've barely been using it and have mostly just been looking forward to this game to make the console finally worth it. Definitely would have bought one now if I didn't have one already.
I'm probably not buying Air Riders, but Switch 2 is great and is really starting to get a good catalogue, so if someone wants Air Riders, go for it. There will only be more reasons to get Switch 2 as time passes.
It's not my main reason for getting the Switch 2, I got it for the newest Nintendo games in general. (Plus I'd love to see the next 3D Mario.) But as someone who enjoys a good racing game, I could see myself playing the heck out of Air Riders when I get it.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Especially now that Pokémon Pokopia has been confirmed to be a Game Key Card, Kirby Air Riders is the only game that has been announced for Switch 2 that I'm super looking forward to, though I'm still undecided about Switch 2 as of right now. Though as of right now, if I was getting a Switch 2 for a single game, that single game would be Kirby Air Riders.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
I played Kirby Air Ride on Gamecube (which I still own today) so I know what to expect with this. Kirby Air Riders was the main reason I purchased a Switch 2 and after playing some of the Global Test Ride I'm ready for the 20th now.
Holding off until reviews drop. It looks incredible graphically, and there's so much creativity at play with the courses, to the point where it makes Mario Kart World look like an uninspired playing it safe laughing stock. Loving it's Sense of F-Zero-like Speed too. Another Nintendo game i wish would get released as a 3rd person VR Racer for the upcoming Steam Frame + Steam Machine.
Also, I thought Kirby Air Ride back on the NGC was a total bore. Great idea, but with mediocre excecution. it felt a bit shallow and awkward to play if memory serves me right. Air Riders looks like an Air Ride depemption. Man, i'm gonna be so bummered' if Air Riders & Prime 4 don't live up to the hype, but I think they will.
Mario kart world was such a playing it safe lame launch title. Kirby Air Riders however looks special, and it's different enough to warrant that much more excitement since it's a sequel to a one-off racer that arrived on the Gamecube in the early 2000's. Visually & creativitly, Air Riders looks like it's in a completely differnt league than MKW. Even if it was already completed for the NS2's launch, Nintendo still would of held off and released it later since Mario Kart is guaranteed to bring in the Koop Coins.
The playtest didn't really do it for me personally. It was alright and obviously a high quality release and there's clearly a lot of depth and content to be had. And obviously Sakurai has the Midas touch. But it's just not my thing, which is fine
But everyone has different tastes so what does it for some might not do it for others. And the more interesting and different content that exists the better. So if this is the system seller for you? Awesome! More power to ya! And don't let anyone tell you otherwise
