So Ninty have announced Fire Emblem coming to smartphones, I wonder how it's gonna work. Will it be a port of an earlier game or new lighter version of a console edition?

Perhaps a version without story based on the multiplayer aspects of Fates? I think that could be a huge hit, and it might even be like wordfeud and similar games where you make your move, and then wait until your opponent is available, making it more accessible to the masses.

I've not played Fates (still waiting on an UK release) but if it's like that I'd hope you can play multiple opponents at the same time as being stuck with one game would do my head in if you're waiting for them.

I don't think it would need to be lighter, but they might split up the story into more chunks, to be able to sell smaller pieces.

And this I might actually buy.

There's a logo (which I'm assuming is a just a pencilled in one) for the new game...

The Animal Crossing's one is there too but I'm not fan of the series.

I know I'm double posting here and I know I posted this in another thread.....But I don't care so pardon the irritation.

Let's see how they can screw this up.

1. Not allowing players to reset the game when a unit dies. If you want the unit alive, use microtransactions.

2. Have a certain turn limit where if you want more turns, use microtransactions.

3. If you want specific weapons, use Microtransactions.

4. If you want to develop relationships or the "waifu" mechanic, get more maps through microtransactions.

5. Forge your weapons with microtransactions.

6. Reclassing can work through microtransactions.

7. Getting skills now needs microtransactions.

8. Unlocking more stories requires microtransactions. (Fates is better than what this one will ever be btw!)

9. Treasure chests can only open through microtransactions.

10. And lastly, Units can only be recruited with Microtransactions.

Then comes the look of the game. How on earth are Fates movie graphics gonna work on a phone?

I mean, look at Sakura Wars on Mobile now!

^Have you not seen recent smartphones and the graphics they can produce, I wouldn't be surprised if they could put something out that is at least on par with 3DS since it uses alot of it's juice to just render the 3D effect

Most smart phones can display full 1080p graphics, so that's certainly not an issue.

I don't see Nintendo making a full story FE game on a mobile device. I'm guessing it's maybe something like Final Fantasy Record Keepers where we get to play as various different FE Lords.

I could see the Fire Emblem game being a CCG instead of what we normally expect from the Fire Emblem series.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

1080 graphics seems like a waste just to play Snake.

Because every mobile game is snake.

...that being said I've been playing a lot of slither.io so you're not completely wrong xD

Snake and writing boobs in numbers on the screen are the pinnacle of mobile gaming!!!

Hmm.... I wonder.....for a tactical RPG that takes 30 minutes to beat a chapter, how can they expect every mobile gamer out there to take ample time out there?

I thought TRPG games were niche...well, atleast that's what I got from you guys.

It probably isn't a TRGP, my guess is a CCG with a Fire Emblem theme.

It wont take 30 mins to play as the microtransactions let you beat the game in seconds, hopefully they will patch Fates to do the same.

@DarthNocturnal: I don't really see the point of suspend honestly since it might as well be a quicksave. If you lose, you start from the beginning if suspend is activated. Might as well have battle saves instead.

Again, you're missing the point here. What takes 5 minutes to finish a level in Angry Birds takes 30 minutes to beat a level in FE.......If the maps are small and take 10 minutes, then fine. If not, then its a problem.

@DefHalan: What's CCG?

@arronishere: You fail to make a point.

@Socar: Given that mobile games are often played in short bursts, suspending a game would then allow you to pick up where you left earlier, rather than acting as a save in case you lose.

And as for level length, why is Angry Birds being brought into it? It's a completely different game.

Yes, I like bears.
